Would not be surprised in the least if JJ goes with a "_ of the _" title for this, especially if he's looking at this movie as concluding the 9-film story.

This means we’ll get Avatar films at Christmas for the next few years.

I saw a good comment about that, to summarize:

"I'll never get Star Wars fatigue, I'll just get mediocre movie fatigue if they start not being great movies."

  13. Out of all the produced content that I've consumed since Star Wars has come back, the only mediocre to bad things were Solo, the first half of Resistance, and Phasma (book).

Its the same thing about music when I hear: "All metal/country/rap sounds the same." No its not you just dont like that genre and dont hear the nuance in it. If there would be any kind of fatigue its superhero fatigue. Theres literally 6 or 7 each year and for the most part the box office is going up and up and breaking records all over the place.

As it becomes more popular there will always be the people that dont get it and are tired of its popularity. Thats the only "fatigue" involved with the actual movies. Even for those who want the movies more separated, I dont think Ive ever heard a Star Wars fan say they want less Star Wars. They just want something new. The true fatigue is simply with the way the fanbase communicates with each other ABOUT Star Wars and specifically the Last Jedi.

The Solo underperformance is a totally skewed and meretricious situation.

I did give myself fatigue of Star Wars right after VII was released.

I would watch a Star Wars movie every few days and read about hype regarding VII for over a year. After watching episode VII a few times over opening weekend I didn’t want to watch another Star Wars film until the trailer for Rouge One was released. It didn’t have to do with Disney but just the fact that I drowned myself in Star Wars media.

Less than an hour. I’ve built this up way too much. This is going to suck. Trailers going to suck. Titles going to suck.

I do like when these movies feel like a big event, I'm okay with them taking a break from movies to experiment with live-action TV. I really think the only reason the build-up to Solo didn't quite feel like that was because it stayed in May instead of a being pushed to December.

I honestly do feel like I may have built this up a little too much. Worried I'll be underwhelmed because of it.

Through the Force Im feeling like there’s going to be a shot of Rey meditating.

  21. I'm in a different mindset I guess where I haven't built anything up. I am just excited for a trailer. And I won't spend the next 8 months picking it apart or reading think pieces on what everything might mean.

Just have to say none of my friends are huge Star Wars fans so I’m grateful to have everybody in here to nerd out about this stuff with. If I had to bottle all this up and enjoy this alone it wouldn’t be as fun. Nothing has even happened yet and it’s been so fun talking about all this since this thread started. We have 54 pages in this thread already lol.

    Y’all rock.

I'm not expecting much in the trailer so it will be hard to be bad.

    So assuming that this weekend...

It's not as if Disney won't ever make another SW movie. But taking a little break might not be the worst thing in the world for some people in the fan base.

I'm not a crazy huge Star Wars guy, but my friend is and he really disliked The Last Jedi a lot. He's not one of those loser toxic dudes who hated it because of Rose or that other SJW bullshit, he just disagreed with the direction they went with Luke and whatnot. I disagree but I get it.

Regardless, he's not even interested in what they do now and it sucks that he doesn't really care to talk about all this news at all. :\
