I don’t know if you were gonna take my guy Julian, probably not, but the Giants REALLY need a safety to replace Collins so I didn’t wanna take my chances. This guy is a first round talent.

Jaguars select Nasir Adderley, FS, Delaware.

There are several great strong safety / hybrid safety prospects in this draft but imo no one comes close to Adderley as a pure center fielder.

We let go of Tashaun Gipson and a hole at free safety could undermine our whole defensive attack. I see filling this position as a MUST, considering our defense is still our primary competitive threat to other teams, and I don’t want to lose that.

Adderley has great range, shocking ball skills, as well as a healthy dose of discipline to honor his downfield responsibilities. He’s also more physical and a better tackler than Gipson which is why I’m thinking we chose to cut him.

Adderley’s 9 interceptions the past two years are very encouraging. He sticks to his assignment better than Savage or Thornhill, has more range than Deionte Thompson, but reacts faster in zone coverage than Chauncey. I wouldve taken Chauncey for versatility’s sake if we needed corner help, but we have arguably the best CBs in the league so this is my guy.
