And most likely The Mandalorian, Clone Wars, and Resistance season 2 as well.

Top things I want from celebration
    1. Ahmed Best with a George Lucas-level standing ovation. Dude deserves it.
    2. Loan Tran also with a huge standing ovation
    3. great trailers for Episode 9 and Mandalorian with little plot details and no big reveals.
    4. Clone Wars news that the 12 episodes are not including finished versions of the bad batch/utapau arcs.
    5. Any level of project announcements. B&W series. RJ series. New TV show. Obi wan. Whatever.
    6. George Lucas showing up for The Phantom Menace panel (long shot but I can dream)

I really hope Best isn't like incapable of going to this. Although I'd understand if he was. What has happened to him over the years has been horrible. And Jar Jar really isn't his fault, it's 100% George's fault as the writer and director. He's the one who should've known better. A no-name actor hungry for his big break shouldn't be expected to have second-guessed George Lucas.

It really blows my mind that someone can blame a motion capture actor for how terrible Jar Jar was. These people are idiots.

Any actor, doesn't matter if it's motion-capture or otherwise, can potentially bear the responsibility for a bad performance/character. This specific instance is just one where that isn't the case at all.

Yeah, true to an extent, but even then, people hating on an actor for doing a bad job in general is stupid as well.

i really have no interest in TPM panel, i get that it's 20 years but I don't want to celebrate a terrible movie and attempt to in any way redeem it. It would be cool to see Best get some recognition, but I'm in no way looking to commemorate TPM in any way lol

I would place TPM above a couple Star Wars films tbh. Duel of the fates and Darth Maul are some of the best things to come from Star Wars.

I'd only put TPM above Clones, and while DotF is one of the better musical pieces/battle sequences across all SW films, and Maul was so criminally underutilized, it still overall is such a bad movie (my opinion). I could argue perhaps depending on the day that it's the best prequel, but I think most days I would give that nod to Sith, but even still, saying one film or the other is the best prequel is not in any way an accolade.

That said, all prequels will get a run through as I hype up for IX.

Yeah TPM is only above Clones, which is just a miserably bad film all around. No damage Jar Jar may have done to the franchise is anywhere near as bad as what George did to Yoda in Clones

I'm pretty sure 11 year old me was disappointed when Jar Jar wasn't around much in AOTC.

I don’t even think Jar Jar was that detrimental to the films. He was just annoying AF. If you took him completely out I think the movies are just as bad maybe even worse because even at jar jars worst, there is some comic relief a la getting his tongue caught in the pod racer.

I still love everything Qui Gon, Obi-Wan, Darth Maul, and Naboo in that film. Dialogue could've been so much better, as well as Anakin's arc on Tattooine. Other than that, I still think TPM gets overly ripped apart. I put this miles above Episode 2.

Naboo was probably my favorite prequel planet. Love Kamino too, so eerie.

Maybe my favorite idea that dude had in the Belated Media "What if the Prequels Were Good?" videos was changing Naboo to Alderaan so that we as the audience have a goddamn connection to it when it gets destroyed in ANH

I did love his series and agreed with a lot of it although a lot of it would take away what I love about the prequels. I think he got rid of Order 66 and all that.

Yeah he did get rid of Order 66, but Order 66 also doesn't square with some things that happen in the OT, which he does point out. But he fixed a ton of the worst problems about them, especially all the continuity errors that came about from George having apparently not re-watched the OT before he started writing any of them.

I also really loved what he decided to do with Uncle Owen. Such a good change.

Agreed with Uncle Owen. and yea i think he brings up how it contradicts how ObiWan pulled out a lightsaber in ANH. This makes me want to revisit those videos lol

Honestly I rewatch all three of them every so often and it just makes me hate what we actually got even more. That guy really knocked it out of the park.

I think I put The Phantom Menace above both of the other prequels. I think I'd put them I,III,II. There are so many awesome things and scenes in TPM, but then there is also SO MUCH that is SO BAD. I don't think AOTC has nearly the same highs but the lows are just as low, and I just don't think I like ROTS as much as a lot of other SW fans. It has some pretty cool stuff in it but everything I do like honestly just kinda strikes me as too little, too late.

I've mentioned it before on here, but TPM also has the distinction of being the movie that made my father - the person who introduced me to Star Wars in the first place - just say "nope" and never watch another Star Wars related thing again. Whenever I see or hear Jar Jar Binks I laugh thinking about that.

Saw the other portion of the mural, not a whole lot to it ha. They had it on an iPad at their booth.
