I have sat next to girl friends and women that i've matched with from tinder and watched them use the app. They can be as choosey as they want to be and almost every time they swipe right, they'll match with that person right then because they've already been swiped right on. When me and my buddies are on there, we can use up all our swipes swiping on women and maybe get a few to a handful of matches, and it's usually after the woman has swiped right on her end. Again, this also plays into Rules 1 and 2, but I'm average looking at best, so my experience is going to be different than a dude that looks like Ryan Gosling and has a great bio. So for guys, a right swipe is a gamble. For women, it's almost a guaranteed match. Again, just in the experiences that I've had.

guys and girls use the app differently. Women are choosy at first, men are not. Men swipe right to everyone then filter it out after they match. I would say guys are more dickish that way.

I definitely agree. I just mean in terms of how easy it is to get matches in the first place. And then generally the guy is expected to message first (the amount of bios I've seen where girls say "I won't message you first" is pretty high) with a good opening line or the girl can choose to ignore it if it doesn't catch her interest enough and wait for the next guy to say something funny or clever. IDK, is my experience different than everyone else's using Tinder? Maybe I'm just ugly, I'm okay with that too.

Idk if it needs to be a conversation about how genders each use the app or whatever.

I just don't think women have an "advantage", despite what men might perceive. It's much more likely that there's tons and tons of terrible shit they have to deal with in that large number of options and that men don't usually have to deal with those same things, so we don't think about them.

im cool with leaving it at that unless a women would like to share their experiences cause a bunch of us talking about how they have an advantage is kinda useless

I keep Tinder basically so I can fuel my ego by looking at people who have matched with me and therefore apparently think I may hypothetically be attractive.

  8. It's a numbers game. Every guy I know who uses Tinder swipes right on everyone and then is selective based on who matches with them. Which is why women almost always get a match whereas guys might not.

This is, at least, why the few times I've used the apps I generally don't message first. I'm not going to waste my time if you're just on here hedging your bets and your swipe had nothing to do with me in any way except that I'm a girl who exists on the app. Hard pass.

But trust me when I say this - being a girl on dating apps if you're looking for an actual connection with someone you're attracted to isn't the cakewalk most guys seem to think it is. I've had one positive experience on OKC, and zero on Tinder or Bumble. That's why my tenure on the apps rarely lasts more than 72 hours before I get grossed out, frustrated or just bored and delete again.

I'm pretty selective. I only swipe on the girls I actually find attractive.

Don't get me wrong, everything depends on personality, but using an app like Tinder, you really have to base everything on looks to start with.

Whenever I've used it I've always swiped on whether or not a bible verse, picture of them with a dead deer, or picture of them with a gun was in their profile in any way.

I've never used Tinder so I can't speak to that at all. But I did use OKCupid briefly, and I get what y'all mean about women having an advantage because of the sheer volume of messages we get on there. The messages I got were pretty awful, though. 90% were either 'Hi' or gross sexual comments.

I had really good luck messaging first on OKC personally. I hit it off with the first guy I messaged, and we dated for a year and a half and are still friends.

The fear of never getting a match is too great. I will never try. This is the story of my life and why I fail at things lol

I fucking hate seeing dead animals on profile pictures. I mean, at least it's a dead giveaway that I can swipe left, but still. Poor deer :(

Let us know how it goes!

I have family that lives in Sachse and I was just down there two weekends ago. I used tinder for all of about 10 minutes before I closed the app for the weekend because of dead animals, confederate flags, and guns.

You definitely understand hahaha. It's pretty bad here, when I was in Killeen it was even worse which blew my mind. But yeah I live right next to Sachse so that's everything I get too haha

I matched with an old friend on Tinder last night and had a great conversation with her, gave her my number, but I doubt anything will happen due to the fact I slept with her sister a couple of years ago...
