Overall I think Gillibrand did well. Some questions she was a little iffy on, but she had great responses in regards to her previous hardline immigration views, her plans now for immigration reform (moving immigration enforcement from DHS to department of Justice is a great idea). Also have a good answer for medicare for all and climate change. I wish they wouldn’t ask so many non policy questions, though she did have some good answers to them.

And one thing I notice is that she is not afraid at all to go after Trump, something some other candidates seem to somewhat avoid. She called him a coward at least 5 times, talked about his spread of hatred, racism, etc, and how he is "tearing apart the moral fabric of this country" (she loves that line lol).

Maybe could increase her fundraising a bit, but I don't think this town hall was widely watched anyway so I don't see it giving her much of a boost in polls or anything

 

Asking if there is room for a religious left is a dumb question, but she did a great job at answering it

 

Simply to attract the religious right/centrists

 

Conservatives saying it's out of context is hilarious, there is no context for "Hitler had some good ideas "

I just read more increasingly insane shit, and I don't understand how the right got this broken. Owens isn't even good at the grift and they're praising her like a genius. Could I be getting millions in Koch money just to say anyone violent is a democrat and they've always been racist, and then just never stop saying that no matter how much reality gets in the way?

I agree, I think the answer is yes.

 

I live approximately 4 miles from a nuke plant (and 30-40 miles from 2 more) and I’ve never felt unsafe or worried about a meltdown. We were always just told growing up that if something happens, go south. (My mom worked the outages for years and years and ensured us the liklihood of something happening was SO rare) I don’t think it matters anyway.And now that I’m in EMS/Fire, I have to stay lol.

Over 50% of the people who live in my town work at one of these plants. I can’t imagine what would happen to our already tiny village of those plants closed.
