I'm not a fan of Swans, at all, so I'm not sure. The two loudest shows I've ever been to were both Health shows though.

I went to review Xiu Xiu back when I was writing and Swans was the headliner and I ended up sitting outside for the whole set and it still sounded like I was up front

 

It's at HOB so it might be a little pricier than a club show but I'm not sure exactly.

I haven't listened to it in about 10 years, but I remember being very let down compared to Absolution. Felt very similar but not nearly as interesting. But I'd have to listen again to give you intelligent criticism.

 

That show sounds like my personal hell. lol

Second loudest show I've been to was a Doomriders, Young Widows, Coliseum, and Saviours in what seemed like a hallway. I blame that show for my tinnitus. I seriously couldn't hear for two days after that.

 

Loudest show I been to was when I saw Fuck Buttons open for Mogwai

 

I hate myself for having never seen mogwai live yet

 

I never noticed this crazy arpeggio in Invincible. good shit.

 

i think mogwai is one of those bands I used to say I listened to but never actually did.

 

There isn't a mogwai album that I don't like

 

Lmao you're so sunny and positive about the topic I love it. I'm a jaded soulless being that deals with the darkside of that part of the world so much it's difficult to see if from your perspective. Well I can see where you're coming from but I guess it's difficult to have that perspective myself

The show I saw them at Xiu Xiu was AWFUL

It wasn't that like he was playing songs badly or anything but Jamie Stewart was just playing drone noises out of a synth and barking into a microphone for 30 minutes

I'm sure at shows where he actually plays songs it's better but that experience made me never wanna see Xiu Xiu again

I know what you mean. Idk like I don’t think I’m naive to the dark side I just (maybe naively? Lol) think it’s possible to separate the dark side from the act itself. I think so many of the problems you see are a result of a combination of so many things and I don’t think sex as a transaction is the culprit haha
