We're a little over a month away. I feel like there's a bit less speculation as far as the overall line-up goes than we had last year...

But we have a few more relatively obvious locks than we did at this point last year, if I'm remembering correctly.

I think at this point every punk band ever has played so there’s not much to speculate

Both have shows already booked in July in Chicago,

also if Violent Femmes are playing I'd think Ben Folds is too..
Primus may be touring with Slayer
the B-52's are almost a lock too based on their touring released today

Fingers crossed like a mofo: Green Day, Gaslight Anthem

overall great job, everything else is very logical.

I cannot for the life of me see Staind ever playing. I think Riot Fest tries to get headliners that not only cater to the punk fans but also your average concertgoer.

As for the hostility, that's Cmoney for you...

All of this makes a lot of sense to me in terms of the acts having a possibility at being on the bill.

I'm guessing at least 50% of this is right. I say that because it feels a bit top heavy. I know it's not meant to be comprehensive or anything like that but... A lot of these acts are top 2nd through fourth liners. So unless you're a miracle-worker there has to be some error in there.

But still. All of this seems logical! Time will tell!

I haven’t had any hostility so idk what your talking about

Also I never said they’d be a headline just on the bill

So I figured out how to get Green Day on the lineup

I give you Michael Dust's first and only very lazy quickly done ms paint attempt of a mock Riot Fest lineup, Rusty will do a much better job

NOTES: this is NOT in any real order, i put artists in where they could fit the poster and limited myself to half the original... i think there's some other bands I should've removed .. as I said very lazy.. have fun looking at it and going "get the fuck outta here with some of this", you're welcome

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

In a wild turn of events, The B-52's 40th Anniversary tour is skipping Chicago but they're in Michigan Saturday 9/14 and then DC on 9/17. Sunday Riot performance in the works?

Some solid guesses in here. The Pharcyde would make a ton of sense! I forgot that they were in play. Silversun Pickups are a good pull/prediction too that I haven't heard floated around recently.

Really doubt Green Day would play as Sweet Children, although I appreciate the creativity! Hah.

Dwight Yoakam in that Merle Haggard/Jerry Lee slot is hilarious. But I really hope they don't waste another subheadlining slot on an act like that this year.

I think the B-52s and the Stray Cats are going to be the "new wave/80s" picks for the year (I know that's not an appropriate way to describe those acts, but you know what I mean -- in that Elvis Costello/Blondie slot).

I would be really happy if this is the lineup. Although the schedule would be hell

Anybody have any guesses for undercard (I'm talking like, bottom three line) acts this year? For me, I am thinking/hoping for...

Spanish Love Songs, Tightwire, Tsunami Bomb, Sincere Engineer, Broadway Calls, Masked Intruder

#1. He's playing in Louisville Riot Fest weekend (edit: he's only off on the Sunday the 15th)
#2. One of the best live shows I've seen in the last 10 years

btw.. also on my list, I don't think there's anyway both Green Day & The Cure are playing, like I said.. very lazy

  18. All of those would be awesome. I'd add Strike Anywhere, but they might end up a bit higher on the poster than any of these. Them, SLS, and BC playing back to back to back on the small stage would be perfect.

Good point about Green Day and the Cure. It would have to be one or the other. Still don't know that Green Day would ever play Riot Fest as they feel too big but... I'd love to be wrong in that!

I don't know that they'd take a pay-cut and just play as Sweet Children, though. However... If they were to play, I could definitely see something where they performed under that name at an aftershow or something like that.

Strike Anywhere would be amazing! Avail, too. There's a few acts that would make me super happy that I didn't include there because they would either be a bit higher up, or I don't know that they're going to play... Arguably, I think Masked Intruder might be higher up than the last 2-3 lines too. But not by much.

Spanish Love Songs into Broadway Calls on that stage would definitely be perfect!

Imagine a day where that second stage is headlined with GWAR and just before them? Sick Of It All, Avail, Strike Anywhere, H2O, and Angel Du$t.

God, a ticket to that show would cost more than a Riot Fest weekend pass lol...

I was just trying to be cute with the Sweet Children thing since I had to fill in something long enough to cover PUSSY RIOT (NADYA TOLOKONNIVA & MASHA ALEKHINA) especially since they played last year.. I could've maybe put Public Enemy performing It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back since they are doing that album in full in the UK in May

All make sense.. Riot Fest is promoting a Spanish Love Songs show May 19, if the schedule is released the week after makes a ton of sense.. otherwise maybe a second wave.. just off the top of my head I could also see Bad Cop/Bad Cop, Laura Stevenson (esp if they finally fucking get Jeff Rosenstock), Flatfoot 56, Larry and His Flask, and just for a deep cut out of nowhere.. the Muffs

also 350 Fest & Wicker Park will probably eliminate a few bands we think are possible
