The shakeup episodes get massive ratings...the original one was like 25% higher than a normal episode. I could see them merging the rosters for 6 months and then having the debut episode of Smackdown on Fox be the start of the new split.

Keeps things fresh for the next 6 months, lets them rest some people, etc.

Same reason that you dont see DC and Marvel crossovers. Does Fox want to promote Roman as champion if his big title match is actually on Monday night, airing against Boston PD or Celebrity Mystery Magic or whatever random show they'll have by them?

This Raw rating is gonna stay strong because theres actually a main event everyone wants to see. Unless they put it on at 10PM or some shit.

First of all, just to be pedantic, there have been numerous Marvel/DC crossovers.

But to the actual point. That would be a "problem" on a week to week basis, sure, but it's not like Roman as champ would only ever be on Raw and never on Smackdown. I'd imagine they'd rather have whoever the biggest draws are in the company half the time than never.
