Got damn. Is he okay?

 

He stayed in and was up immediately. It seemed like it may have gotten his glove as well. I didn’t myself see a replay that showed it fully but it definitely seemed to have gotten his head in some way

 

Plus Baez’s crazy hit where he practically flung the bat at the ball after it bounced in the dirt first. That was nuts.

 

I think they're just supposed to be a .500 club.

 

As one of the few remaining Pirates fans left out there, I will admit that no the Pirates are not expected to be good. Rotation should be solid (Taillon, Williams, Archer, Musgrove, Lyons) but that’s about it. Offense will be inconsistent at best and the bullpen will mostly struggle.

 

For some reason I just assume they're tanking but they'll probably finish about average for the next few years until they become the next Astros, jk the Astros spend on FAs so

 

who knew changing hitting coaches would be so effective, especially when the former coach is Edgar

 

Yeah unfortunately that’s definitely the truth of it. They usually do a pretty good job of building up their prospects but then when those guys do excel they get dealt away instead of getting their due payday. Frustrating for sure.

Yeah I usually am up for any record being set, good or bad, but I wouldn't have hated him snapping out of it yesterday since the Yankees were up big. I think anybody that doesn't feel at least a little bad for him is weird lol

Shane Greene became the first player in MLB history to record 7 saves in a club's first 10 games since the creation of the stat.

Dang, he's been busy.

 

I like that I could instantly tell which one was from Tropicana field because of the gloomy lighting and not because of the score bug at the bottom of the screen.

 

Do you know what the deal is with the new lights at the Trop? I saw a reddit post right before the season that showed the whole ceiling lit up with some great looking blue lights, but I haven't heard much about the lighting being used for the season yet

 

Last I heard they still need approval from MLB to use the lights during games. They can actually light up with a ton of different color schemes. The plan is for them to have the LED lights lit to blue during games to aid fielders in seeing balls hit into the air. Right now they are used after home runs and wins (flashing lots of different colors).

Hopefully the MLB approval goes pretty quick. The picture I saw, which I can't find rn, looked so damn cool. It made the Trop look like a new ballpark and I can imagine it'll be helpful (if done correctly, ofc) for fielders with those super high pop flys
