main thoughts:
- Takeovers consistently drive home for me that i prefer tag team wrestling to all other wrestling by a considerable margin. my top matches of a given year are all NXT tags i feel
- Cole is a fucking machine at selling emotion. his facial reactions and body language in that final stretch where nothing would put Johnny away made a great match almost perfect
- didn’t even consider Ciampa coming out and god damn

Just recovering now from being at Takeover last night. Easily the best WRESTLING event I've ever been to. Just wow.

 

I'm about to be at the best wrestling show in on thistory of wrestling. Hope y'all watch it, if not just for Teddy Hart's Reading Rainbow.

The show started with Paige's mom calling everyone ****s. I love this show.

Sarah Shockey on commentary has been one of the best things with weekend.

 

I have Adam Cole’s theme stuck in my head so now I have the irrational urge to yell “boom” and “ADAM COLE BAYBAY!” Every three and a half minutes.

 

I wish they didn't choose to fuck over Black's NXT story with the Gargano stuff so I could enjoy the main event more but he's still Johnny Asshole to me. What has he done to show he isn't actually the selfish piece of shit Ciampa revealed him to be? It's like the story they actually told (Ciampa was right, and had to bring out the darker side of Gargano in order to turn him into a champion) didn't line up with what the announcers were saying.

Still a fun match. Just treating Johnny as this heroic babyface is so incredibly wrong. Heroic babyface Johnny was a loser. Let him be an arrogant midcarder who thinks he's righteous but we can all tell isn't. Then you actually get an interesting story, a more interesting character, and a great opportunity for someone like Lee to come in an expose him.
