My fear on this issue is still that republicans are going to use this as a way to justify killing the filibuster in the near future so they can ram through some legislation before the 2020 election.

But I guess a counterpoint to that is that they have already abused and changed the rules in the past few years to do that so if hey really wanted to they would have eliminated the filibuster by now while they have the majority
