Is ZSJ under contract with anyone? I realize he is the champ in a bunch of places. WWE is definitely going to be throwing offers his way over the next few months.

I'm not sure I understand what WWE was thinking here.

    From WON:

Styles is the other example. Two years ago, when TNA wanted to cut his salary significantly and he was looking out, WWE made him a joke of an offer and he ended up going to New Japan, which really made his career. He got enough buzz that WWE was willing to bring him back, and let him use his name, in January. But he was not planned whatsoever to be a main eventer. He was booked to be low on cards and perhaps work to middle. But the reaction at the Royal Rumble, and even more so at the house shows where he was getting either the first or second best reaction even with almost no WWE television, changed the perception of him and now he’s considered one of the company’s five top regular stars.

Nope. Free agent. He recently left Noah. They'll pick him up for sure.

So I guess he'll probably be dropping the PWG belt soon. Who do you think is in line for that?

As of right now? O'Reilly or Cole again. PWG booking is weird this year as there is not a young rising star that's being booked strongly every show like there usually is. I have no clue who is going to win BOLA this year. Speedball was my pick as a future BOLA winner and PWG champ, but that's fucked now. I've heard some people say maybe they'll give Chuck Taylor or Trevor Lee a shot.

Question about the CWC: who is actually the one booking the event and making the choices of who wins each match? Is it just WWE guys or do the promotions that these various people are coming from also get some say on how their guys get booked?

From the looks of it, it sounds like the WWE is using a lot of this initial training and stuff to make the decision. I can't remember who tweeted it, but they were saying something about how in order to win the tournament, competitors were going to have to show a lot of innovation. Makes a lot of sense.

No, most of them are indie and international talent. Rich Swann is signed full time to WWE, and Johnny Gargano and Tommaso CIampa are signed to a weird part time WWE/part time indie deal.

Most of them seem to be freelancers, or they primary work for Evolve which already has a close working relationship with WWE. I think the only guy that is signed to a larger company is Akira Tozawa and i've seen him lose clean at PWG before. I don't any of these guys are in a position where another company feels they need to be protected.

I'm really curious to see if they surprise us here. I don't want to see a lot of these guys from other countries coming in and jobbing out to Ciampa and ZSJ. I want those guys going over, but I don't want to see unknown talents getting buried in the process. It's a pretty shitty spot to be in. lol

ah okay. I don't follow indie wrestling too closely. thought some of the guys were from bigger promotions.
