I'm pretty sure last year made me hate April Fools Day more than I ever have with that news being released about Tony tearing his knee tripping over a cable. Like, partly mad that they disclosed the news on April 1st but also mad that this day is so stupid that you have to avoid making any sort of announcement because people won't believe it.

Magamedov got a lifetime ban from the UFC for failing and refusing to test again.

Whats the biggest upset in MMA history to everyone? I just saw a reddit thread asking what was the greatest upset in sports history and someone mentioned Serra/GSP. Any others y'all can think of?

  8. Lil Nog vs Sokodjou in Pride was absolutely absurd when it happened.

Nog was considered one of the best LHWs in the world at that time.

I think it’s still the biggest upset of all time in terms of betting odds as well.

Both of the above mentioned fights are top 3. Chris Weidman ending Silva’s run. Some thought he could win, but not many.

Rousey vs Holm. Edgar vs Penn, and Couture vs Sylvia are all up there for me too.

Ugh that's tough. I think I would have to go with Rousey vs. Holm if not Serra/GSP I.

Rousey looked unbeatable even until that point even though we all knew that Holly was great (plus, the blueprint was always there but none of her opponents were ever able to get close to exploiting it).

Other greats like Fedor and Silva were just enough past their primes where they definitely looked beatable in the fights leading up to the moment they finally lost. It was still a shock when Weidman and Werdum won but wasn't absolutely unbelievable and more a matter of time.

Other notable ones would be Shogun/Griffin I and Rose/Joanna I.

I said this the other day but damn if I don’t think Rose/Andrade would eat Waterson alive if that’s the next fight.

I was there live when Rose beat Waterson the first time. She looked so undersized it wasn't even funny. She could prove me wrong, but at least in that fight she didn't look like she had the reach to utilize her striking and didn't have the size to utilize the grappling.

  13. So doesn’t look like Conor actually retired. He’s been talking shit to Khabib and trying to get a rematch.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

I think Sonnen had a good take on that whole situation...

I think he either A) was using that purely to gain leverage over the UFC with the ownership angle, and the whole sexual assault allegation situation hit the mainstream media outlets the same day by coincidence OR

    B) he was told by the UFC (or decided on his own) to announce his retirement to disconnect with the UFC while all of these allegations hit the public news outlets. The UFC gets such bad PR every time someone (especially Conor) fucks up. Their name is plastered all over the news as if they have anything to do with it.

So is Tony Ferguson like, okay now? I see he is tweeting pretty regularly again. Was there any update with that story about his breakdown?

I believe he’s just on his own right now. Probably training and going through counseling. No talks of a fight for him as of right now that I’ve read of.

  19. Conor had some wild stuff he tweeted but he deleted it

  20. Conor tweeted about Khabib's wife being a towel and posted a picture of them I believe.

Most of the time with these beefs I just think it's entertaining and that both guys just really don't like each other. This time I really just want to look away.

  22. Yeah they’re both being dumb

What an embarrassing situation for all parties involved.

These last few days have been absolutely wild considering nothing has really happened to spark this. I wish someone would hammer Dana regarding his confirmation of Conor's "retirement". haha.
