My sis takes a ton of selfies cause she's photogenic af and if I was i would too lol. So jealous of ppl who look good in all their pics

When people get incredibly over-dramatic about the fact that you haven't seen a certain movie or TV show that the majority of people hold close to their hearts. Like, yeah, so I didn't watch Spongebob growing up - who the fuck cares, stop looking at me like I just grew a third arm from my chest and telling me I need to watch it like my life depends on it or say I had no childhood.

 

My wife gets on my ass because I like Game of Thrones, calls it trendy and says I like it because everyone else likes it. I don't get those people who have a problem towards the popularity of something, and hating it ONLY because it's popular.

 

I don't watch a lot of TV or movies and I get that all the time. I have to explain that to every person I meet.

 

it's so much easier to not watch a movie or TV show then to watch one

 

that's totally fine, but for most people it's not like that, especially when they over do it (like every single day or multiple times a day). like @muttley said usually it's about attention / being self absorbed and it's irritating. the reason why i don't have a lot of people on my fb/twitter/instagram in the first place

 

Yep yep. Every time someone over reacts like that I'm like "So?". It's really not a big deal.

Heck by APnet standards I was super late in listening to bands like TBS, Jimmy, BN, blink etc haha

 

i don't think ive ever publicly posted a selfie, but im all for them. like, if posting a selfie boosts your confidence or whatever that's cool. do you.

 

I think you guys are misunderstanding, I mean constantly doing it or oversharing. That's annoying, as is with anything, not just selfies.

@lightning13 i definitely wasn't trying to belittle your stance on it or anything. I just meant that most of my friends who did it are proud of themselves and I'm just like "okay yeah that outfit is cute go on and show it to the world" but there is definitely other cases and ways that behavior can come across

 

I post them every now and then, also if I didn't there would be no pictures of me because who is taking pictures of other people tbh

 

I don't even let other people take pictures of me, I will hide from cameras.

My sister is one of those people who will tell me to take a picture of her as she stands in front of a view, facing away from the camera. It feels so contrived to me. I associate that behavior with selfies.

 

I used to be weird about taking photos bc I have a huge head and some of my teeth are crooked/I always squint one eye shut when smiling for photos. But when family and friends had photo slide shows I was never in them bc I'd refuse and I realized I needed to be in them to capture memories. I've gotten over said insecurities now and if someone isn't taking my picture the question is why tf not im beautiful get r camera out

 

I take a lot more photos now because I heard somebody say "the last thing I'm going to think when I'm old and wrinkly is 'Hmm, gee, I sure wish I had LESS photos of me and my friends when we were young,'". Changed the way I think about it quite a bit.

 

I think I'm pretty dang attractive but I have anxiety over little details and also my hair

I don't get the "capturing memories" rationale behind taking pictures. You don't need a camera to remember shit, your brain already automatically does that for you. And if you're worried about forgetting those treasured moments as you grow old, well, you'll have bigger things to worry about then anyway, like the fact that your entire body is slowly failing and death is quietly lurking behind you at all times.

 

I rarely take selfies cause I'm an irl chandler bing. If I think I look good that day I try, but they all look horrible and then I feel bad cause I start thinking maybe I don't look good and the pic is telling the truth! And since I know I'm unphotogenic I overthink and tense up and look weird and even worse. I tend to look better in candids when I'm smiling naturally
