I'll watch this for Joaquin Phoenix

 

i will be thrilled if this is a hit for DC and we get standalone movies/story arcs and not a big intrertwined universe. i find that to be so limiting.

 

I need DC to make more weird films like this.

I need Sony to make every single weird Spider-Man supporting character film they've talked about.

Now that we have so many good comic book films to choose from, these studios need a new non-MCU strategy:

 

I want this to get weird. Teaser poster is awesome.

 

I really want this to be good but I'm not getting my hopes up.

 

I completely agree. I don't mind a connected film here and there, but I'm finding the current Marvel model to be exhausting. Superhero fatigue has definitely set in for me.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this film, in part because I think Joaquin has the ability to make this an interesting take on the character. I'm fully expecting to be proven wrong, but we'll see.

I love how Marc is always kinda eh on superhero movies but he seems to have a prominent role in this movie. Really curious about this, excited for the teaser tomorrow.

Ah yes, the script was "continuously rewritten during production." Like all the best films.

 

I have a probably unreasonable level of optimism for this movie. Joker is my favorite comic book character and Joaquin Phoenix generally doesn't do bad movies

 

I doubt it will be straight up bad, but I’m expecting it to be middle of the road. Luke warm. Milquetoast.

Looks really creepy and grounded. My interest is very high.

 

I'm definitely a fan of the character-driven nature of the trailer/film.
