I get why we're giving Dex a chance but it's realllllly hard to not have O'Neill and Martinez in the lineup everyday.

 

This is more interesting than what I was going for. I appreciate you taking the time to figure that out! I was going for most steals in a losing effort with no runs scored by the losing team at all.

That's wild that Taveras didn't score despite stealing 5 bases. How the hell does that happen? I'd be upset with teammates for failing to drive me in.

As for my question, it seems to be 4 stolen bases, most recently happening in 1998 when Brady Anderson stole 4 bases in a 1-0 loss to the Yankees. 1-0! His teammates really failed him there. It also happened a couple times in the 80s, one of them being by Vince Coleman in a 7-0 drubbing against the Mets. And once in the late 70s.

Ugh! I meant to share that, too. My bad. I was surprised by how few it was. I would've guess the team would've scored 0 runs more often if they can't drive a guy stealing 4 bases in.
