This album is the sound of an incredibly confident band and I’m here for all of it

These string arrangements, the production choices, it almost feels like they’re swinging for the fences on every song

I think aregala thinks this is good guys

 

Someone said when Numb Without You dropped that they seem much more anxious in this one. LLL and AC both had a very breezy, nostalgic feeling. Glad to here some big emo vibes on this.

 

Tonight they told us that Slip The Noose is the same song as Black Butterflies. BB was reworked in the studio but they both came from the same demo

 

Music is weird

 

My (disconnected) thoughts:

I’m loving this. It really nails that “newstalgic” feeling where the songs instantly feel familiar but also fresh.

I also love how they took the flourishes they experimented with at the margins on LLL (like in the interludes) and add those into the songs themselves.

It reminds me in parts (sometimes in the same song) of The 1975, Fall Out Boy, Jimmy Eat World, Owel, Panic At the Disco, and U2.

 

Owel released a fantastic new record today too

 

I really like the drum production on this album. They sound awesome.

 

Oh yeah, I love it.

Parts of the closer on this definitely feel like they could’ve been written/performed by Owel.
