I used to love those books as a kid. Had no clue there was gonna be an adaptation, although not surprising

Looks like it’ll be a fun one. Del Toro has the best monster effects. So happy he’s the one to get this project going.

When it got to the pimple I yelled "don't you show it don't you show it" at my phone

That's how bad trailers are these days

Really glad the Scary Stories trailer didn't reveal what was in the pimple. Brightburn giving away the eyeball thing in the trailer was such a waste and that shit should be avoided in trailers.

Close, but still not better than Brad Dourif.
Still no interest in ever seeing the movie.

!!! That’s crazy. Super good voice actor. I’m actually excited to hear his take on it. That makes me interested in the remake for sure.

  14. Still bitter about the remake, but this is one way to get my attention.

Was Creation an official Conjuring universe film?

Creation was official I believe, which is good since so far it’s the only spinoff I really liked

I think Annabelle was there last Conjuring universe movie I've seen

  20. Did some wiki-ing: Patrick Wilson is in both the Insidious and Conjuring series? For some reason I thought they were the same universe. I've somehow avoided all of them except the first Insidious.

    Different studios I think

  22. Are they similar at all? I mean, aside from being about ghosts. Insidious 1 was genuinely chilling at some points; the trailers I've seen for The Nun and The Curse of La Llorona felt really jump-scare-y. I really liked Ringu and Ju-On; I thought it was because they're about ghosts, but I haven't been super interested in Insidious or The Conjuring, so maybe it's more of a tonal thing.

They’ve got some similar atmospheres, but Insidious leans into the paranormal while Conjuring leans into the religious/demons side of things.

The actual Conjuring movies plus Annabelle: Creation are good, the other ones are pretty meh but I really like the idea of a big interconnected horror universe.

  25. I really like some recent horror films I've come across but I don't consider myself a huge fan of the genre as a whole, so it was just never on my radar.
