noooo I was just a kid then. I knew nothing. I stepped away from sports in general after that and only came back around 2012 with Sharks and Dodgers and Texans.

I was at the game when Michael Barrett punched AJ Pierzynski in the face at home plate during the Cubs vs Sox at US Cellular Field back in the day. I went to a Cubs/Sox game every year, usually at The Cell. The crowds were always ridiculous. So many drunk people, so many fights.

A game I have more pleasant memories of is June 19, 2009, Indians vs Cubs at Wrigley Field. It was Mark DeRosa's first time back at Wrigley after having been traded to Cleveland. To those who don't know, DeRosa was extremely beloved by Cubs fans. He played everywhere for us, a Ben Zobrist-esque player—super utility with good hitting. It was gutting seeing him traded. He received a huge standing ovation during his first plate appearance.

Unfortunately, the game got out of hand quick. It was 7-0 in favor of Cleveland after 4 innings. But the Cubs clawed back, adding a run here and there, exploding with 4 in the 8th, then tying the game with a homer off Cubs legend Kerry Wood in the bottom of the 9th.

In the bottom of the 10th, Ryan Theriot walked it off with a squibber that evades the first baseman, allowing Soriano to score from 2nd.

Also, as a kid, my mom took me to Atlanta for my 10th birthday to see Game 5 of the 2003 NLDS vs the Braves. Kerry Wood pitched a game and the Cubs advanced to lose heartbreakingly to the Marlins. Wood pitched a gem and I got covered in beer by some salty Braves fans.

Yes, his groin. The Indians are notoriously horrendous handling injuries.

Astudillo is in the top 5 most interesting baseball players. He’s not a superstar, but his skillset is wild. Never strikes out, never walks, stupid out of this world elite bat to ball skills, somehow added power the last year or so, is versatile enough despite not looking it to play everywhere on the field even if he’s not good enough to start at any of them but catcher. He’s a real delight for the game. I have some of his baseball cards!

Kendrys Morales to the A’s, eh? Well, he’s bound to get a walk off GW HR against the Angels this weekend.

I’ve been extremely fortunate enough to go to most Indians playoff games Since the 90s and the Rajai Davis homer in Game 7 WS to tie the game was one of the craziest things I’ve ever been a part of. Also, our seats are right on the left field foul line near the HR fence so the ball landed like, 30 feet away from us. Just mass chaos.

The one thing I remember from that night was after they lost, we had to walk literally about a mile to our car and it was just a terential downpour...like straight out of a movie about a depressed guy getting his heart ripped out of his chest and walking in a rainstorm. It was so cliche.

Other memories (outside of Indians games) is I went to wrigley field in the late 90s which was really cool and again to Dodger Stadium (sat directly behind Dick Vitale) and Angels stadium back in 2001.

Looking forward to taking my 4-year-old son to his first game this season.

Never been to an opening day. My first game I went to was in 97 at Yankee Stadium. They lost but there were like 7 hrs. Griffey hit one, A-Rod hit 2. O'Neill and Tino hit back to back homers and that place was crazy loud and shaking so I was glad for that memory. I think that was Irabu's 2nd home start so there was still a lot of hype and he was terrible lol.

  21. I've been to a few Opening Days at Camden Yards and the energy in the park is always amazing.

The coolest baseball moment I've ever seen in person was the Delmon Young bases-clearing double to take the lead in 8th inning of game 2 of the 2014 ALDS. Pretty sure that's still the loudest moment in Camden Yards history and I still can't watch it without getting chills. My wife and I were on TV right after Britton closed out the game too, which was pretty cool.

Even though the O's are going to be godawful this season, I couldn't be more excited for tomorrow.
