This would be cool but this was a corporate event lmao

Nice set list for sure but to think that the band would take the time to (re)learn and practice songs that they literally haven't played since 2002 or even before that (Pathetic, Dick Lips, Roller Coaster, Untitled, Please Take Me Home), in the middle of them recording a new album and play them for a one off private event is just setting you up for disappointment.

What is this corporate event excuse? The person who booked them chose what songs they could play?

Either they are afraid to switch it up or content to keep playing the same tired setlist..It wouldn't take much to make me happy as evidenced by my set I posted above. Switch some of the songs they ALWAYS play with a couple they don't trot out very often or ever. Most veteran bands are capable of this, not sure why Blink isn't.

Very random but Sam Darnold has videos on his story of the show

Good thing you weren’t at that corporate event so they didn’t have to cater to you.

How hard is it to understand they were playing a one off private event for people who most likely only know them for their radio songs? Busting out deep cuts would have been wasted effort. It’s really not that complicated to comprehend

Good god how is this the angriest someone's gotten over a setlist in this thread for a show where probably 90% of the people only know All The Small Things and What's My Age Again

I won't be pissed over a setlist at a corporate event but if that's the setlist on the tour I think I would skip it.

LOL, got it after I posted. Good one.

I GET it was a corporate event. I don't care. If your excuse is "well most of the people there don't know them" so they played the hits. The setlist I made up included enough singles to still pander to the casual fans. At a certain point it just looks lazy and like they are phoning it in. Pretty sure they were getting that sweet, sweet corporate guarantee as long as they played music for a certain amount of time.

Hopefully the new record is good and when they tour for it they switch the set up a little bit, otherwise I know I won't be going.

Yeah tbh after seeing them 8 times I’m going to wait for the opening night of their next tour to see if I want to buy tickets

I do find it pretty amazing people throw a fit over things they can't control. Have a beer, smoke a bowl and chill out.

My first time seeing them was on the California tour, and I was still very underwhelmd with the set.

I think it's a mix of the event/show they're at, it's part of their routine set and that they're in the middle of recording a new album. This has been their first show since November of 2018 and their next scheduled show is at the end of April and then at the end of June. They're not going to take the time to learn a bunch of songs they haven't played in over 15 years for a one off show like that when they're probably not going to be actively touring until June. It seems like they rehearsed for this show for a couple of hours for one day and that was it

I agree that they have gotten lazy with their set lists which have been the same more or less since 2009. Hopefully they switch it up a bit when the next album drops, which I expect they will by adding 4 or 5 songs from their new album. Unfortunately Mark thinks for better or worse that fans want to hear their singles mixed with new songs and fan favorites. I, like a lot of die hard blink fans, would love to hear deeper cuts but that's just not who the band is and really hasn't been ever since they got bigger with EOTS.

One of the main reasons I’m excited for the Simple Creatures show is that Mark will play a set I’ve never seen him play

"Why didn't the band play songs that they've never played before with Matt and only 2 songs they actually wrote with him when they probably only had a week or two to rehearse, playing to people that aren't necessarily all fans at a show I wasn't at?!?!" is what I'm seeing haha

Would you consider Blizzcon a corporate event? Cuz when they played in 2013 the setlist had a lot of untitled deep cuts.

I'm super chill, not sure why you guys think I'm coming off as that upset about this. This band has been important to me since 1997 and I'm just sharing what I would like to see them do. You can keep making excuses and keep paying $80-90 to see the same setlist but I'm optimistic they might switch it up.

I mean it was around when they were playing that album in full so they were used to playing them
