Tom won't rest (and the world won't let him either) until he's back in blink. He needs to remain relevant. I wish he would be respectful and shut himself off from the public eye for awhile, but that won't ever happen. His ego is too big for that idea to seep in.

The imgur link posted a few pages back? That review was like 150 words and used empty buzzwords like "earworm" and "fizzy"

I can't see Tom ever giving up blink legally. I knew from the start this was a lot more complicated than either side is letting on. And for that reason I hope they patch things up and Tom realizes how special blink really is and gives it 100 percent when he returns. Hopefully this was a big wake up call for him, and we get a rad album with Matt Skiba from all of this. That kind of win/win situation is the best case scenario IMO.

While I love Skiba, I'm so stoked to watch this happen. People are going to lose it.

 

How fucking insane would it be if on July 1st the government revealed aliens exist, with Tom as the announcer.

 

Not that one, it was like a 7-8 page article in Rocksound, that was posted a few pages back to. I don't remember reading one that used earworm and fizzy.

This is what I've been waiting for. Finally, someone out there is writing like they've actually heard the album.

 

The Rock Sound article makes it a bit more nuanced than you're all making it out to be, Travis still regularly sees Tom and counts him as one of his friends

 

As much as I'd like to see the classic Mark, Tom, and Travis back in action, the classic Tom is just GONE. He's still got his sense of humor and whatever, but musically, he's toast.

And I will call it right now: Tom WILL flake out again if he re-re-re-joins Blink. He's apparently done it a couple more times than we even knew about. He's into something at the moment, but then when the initial excitement goes down, and it comes time to following through and making it happen, his yead gets the best of him, and he bails. That seems to be his personality type. I know a few people like that, and it's definitely hard to be the guys who are ready to jump at the count of 3, and then the last guy hesitates like, "Do we jump on '3' or on '3-go!'?" or just decides to not jump at all...

If i had it my way, Matt would stay in Blink, Tom would gracefully move on and do whatever he wants to do... But if Tom refuses to let Blink go, then maybe every couple years or so when Alkaline Trio needs to be Matt's top priority, Tom can come back and do a tour, or even an EP here and there. Something like that.

I just REALLY hope that this new album fucking kills, puts all the people who are on the fence about the new lineup at ease, and everyone is just happy with everything. i want Feldmann to be happy and get praised for his work on it. I want Skiba to be happy and get praised for his work on it. I just want them to feel like they did a great job and didn't let Mark, Travis, or Blink's legacy down in any way. That's seriously all I want out of this album. If it's better than Neighborhoods and Dogs Eating Dogs, then (in my opinion) they've won!

Tom is the type that sits on the edge of the pool and just dips his toes in then goes "no fuck that". And mark is mad because it is his pool that he built for naked dudes.
