I'm referring to one person who had no clue who the band was in the last page of this thread and is literally going off the hate mongering from one twitter post.

Also, the band in question asked something on twitter and you are creating a false inference to fit an agenda apparently (doing so again in that spoiler tag). It's cool, do what you got to do. Nowhere did he explicitly "ask if it was ok for him to say the n-word" (as if context doesn't matter, right) or say he "doesn't understand why he can't say the n-word". It was for the purpose of covering a song.

  2. Nothing you said changes the fact that it's problematic and ignorant.

OLN was fucking awful lol. Just sounded like one big backing track

    One really lame backing track.

BUT STATE CHAMPS WAS FANTASTIC! and TDS sounds much better with new stuff as opposed to older stuff. It is still a shame that he has run his voice into the ground, but I think they are making it work as best they can with newer material.

We arrived at 8:30 on Friday because the venue tweeted out that TDS would be on at 8:30. Instead, we missed TDS, and had to watch that dog shit Our Last Night asshole pretend to have any ability to sing. God, they were simply horrible (not to mention the Michael Jackson shirt...)

State Champs was fantastic though as always

I wasn't stoked on OLN being on this tour but thought maybe they're better live but now I'm dreading their set, haha. Anyone else going to the show in Orlando this week?

Wait, someone from OLN actually wore a Michael Jackson shirt?

Yes. Their lead singer did on Friday. It wasn't difficult to determine immediately that not only could he not sing well, but that the band was terrible and he was an asshole. At least he made it easy to figure out, so we were able to go grab some beers and hang out by the merch until they were done playing.

I'm at a loss for words on this one. It's a shame he's so disillusion and just a dipshit.

I'll be there. Probably the first show in a long time where I'm not excited for any of the openers. I'll still show up somewhat on time so I can get a decent spot. Wish now I had bought the upper level seats when I had the chance.

I'll be there too. Got lucky with a ticket over the weekend.

Champs were great tonight in MD and in Philly a couple nights ago too. They said they'll be back in the summer both times, I do wonder what they'll be on whether it be another headliner or support tour (betting on support).

Why the fuck did SC have to bring out such a dog shit band? It was criminal how poorly TDS was received in comparison to OLN

I'm not even offended by the fact they seem super dumb, people are allowed to have bad takes, otherwise they can't grow--

But wow, their musical style just seems so generic and emotionless. Like it's just doesn't have any kick or or anything interesting to it-- it's only marginally more musical tham the sound a plane makes when taking off.

In Nashville it was just TDS and OLN. I was front row had to fight through a bunch of oln fans and tell them I was leaving after tds. It was ridiculous, the drunk frat guy next to me was googling tds and found permanent rain and told his friend "eh they sound like wanna be fall out boy". They all seemed to jam to them but very few people seemed to know lyrics.

yeah OLN doesn't even seem like a right fit for this tour

I was thinking the same initially, but after going to a show and seeing the crowd reaction, I would actually say that about TDS instead.

This. I Like TDS a lot better, but most of the current State Champs fanbase is more likely to like OLN than TDS. Luckily Grayscale is opening or else a lot of people would just skip out on TDS. That's why this tour is actually good for TDS, get's them some exposure to that fanbase.

Yeah, for someome like me who's younger and wasn't even aware of TDS when they broke up, they just sound like another band who's about to swing into a generic-rock direction (a la Taking Back Sunday's Tidal Wave) plus they're on Hopeless Records so I can't stream their albums on Youtube.

Meanwhile an OLN cover hits the trending page on Youtube like once a year & they have that unobjectionable high-production sheen, so they just fit in more with Champs' fans now.

We got to the show a little late tonight due to traffic, but I’m surprised they have most of the top area blocked off. The show is sold out, but they were also offering VIP upgrades. We bought some so now we’ve got some nice upper level seats for an extra $40 each. Got a perfect view and an old bastard like me doesn’t have to stand all night.
