I love that it’s so open in terms of possibilities but I’ve always thought that Hitman games feel painfully dated. Controls, animation, the NPCs, the gameplay...even graphically too. Something about it just doesn’t click with me.

To be brutally honest, Doom will never work as a movie.

 

If you did it like Dredd it probably could. Make it pretty much non-stop insanely good action scenes with the Doom Guy as a protagonist, have him barely speak, and treat the plot the same way as Doom 2016 did (i.e. have Doom Guy openly show disdain for the convoluted shenanigans happening around him and just mow through demons instead).

 

That’s the ideal but there’s no way you’d see it being as Satan heavy as the games, which is a sizable element of Doom.

 

Yeah I mean compromises would definitely have to be made. Just not the same level of compromise that gives us "team of generic space soldiers fight bad CGI monsters in enclosed personality-free spaces" rather than what the games are actually about lol

 

Plus the gore would definitely be trouble with the MPAA

 

Honestly they probably wouldn't have to tone that down much. The MPAA is surprisingly ok with high levels of gore and other gruesome content in R-rated movies, especially when the gore isn't human-on-human like in a potential Doom film.

 

ive never played through a souls game but i really want to try out sekiro, looks amazing. not that i dont want to play through the souls games but i figure at this point i might as well start with the new hotness.

I’m so excited to read a few Sekiro reviews. DS3 and Bloodborne are two of my favorite games ever but I feel like the formula isn’t rock solid enough for me to buy day 1. Need to see how this pans out.

 

Yeah, I’m interested to see how fluid it is but the trailer looks great.

 

I'm so excited for Sekiro but from what I've heard about it I think I'm going to find it way harder than Souls or Bloodborne.

 

Bloodborne would be the most directly relevant to Sekiro but it’s a whole different beast entirely really.
