People liked the music Jerry helped write though. I think some people just use co-writers as an excuse because they don't like the songs but don't want to blame Mark and Matt. Like "I like Mark and Matt so why don't I like this? Must be those dastardly co-writers/producers!".

 

Maybe, I also think there's a lot of "authenticity police" in it as well though.

Reminds me of when one big problem someone had was Matt singing the chorus of San Diego cause it was Mark's life lol

 

Or when someone was saying HISALP was disingenuous with Matt on it because he doesn’t have kids

 

Or Matt singing any Tom songs because he didn’t right them. I specifically remember people having problems with him singing Wishing Well because Tom wrote it about the blink break up/reunion.
