I remember back when Not Without a Fight Came Out, I talked to Chad after a show in Milwaukee. He said that Blink was supposed to take them out on a tour but it never materialized.

 

If co-writers, producers and styles go as they seem to be, I would imagine Blink can go the post-hiatus FOB route next with their tour and bring along some modern rappers to bring in the younger crowd a-la Wiz Khalifa, Machine Gun Kelly, blackbear, etc

 

FOB has the worst taste in rappers

 

that's the damn truth. Even on Make America Psycho Again, I would call myself a fan of maybe 2 out of the 10+ features

To get away from #TomTalk for a minute and talk about Travis (for reasons other than his weird celebrity lifestyle)

I remember a random article with some guy criticising his drumming in Adam's Song for the random splashes and shit he was doing in the verses. I dunno why it randomly popped into my head but listening to the song it really is so "weird" what he's doing but I think it sounds amazing.

I don't know what my point is really. What's your favourite blink drum beat I guess?

I've always loved the shit he does on the ending of "I Miss You" live.

 

I’d probably go with ‘Everytime I Look For You’. I don’t play drums, but that song always sounded cool as hell on drums and has a little of everything.

I also really like the intro to Kings Of The Weekend and his stuff on BCR.

I'm really curious to see where this new record goes. California, to me, was too long and same'ish for my liking. It just felt boring. But with all these people that are working with them this time around, with Matt probably having some more comfort in his influence, and with the idea that they're mixing it up a bit, I'm really excited to see where this thing goes.

When I think of some of the cool things Matt & Mark have done (Kuts, +44, Simple Creatures) I think we could get a really cool record out of this. I'm definitely hoping for a more underground/alt kinda pop driven sound.

 

“Always” is definitely a favorite blink drum moment. The snares in the outro sound perfect.

Box Car Racer is full of great lil beats and moments. “And I”, “Cat Like Thief”, and “Elevator” are super fun.

 

I was just thinking....I remember an interview with Mark discussing how he felt like he couldn't write good songs anymore and suffered from major writers-block around the Neighborhoods and Dogs Eating Dogs eras. It's really nice to see him bust through that with California/DLX and now Simple Creatures.

 

And I is travis’ peak. There’s some good blink choices here too
