I lived in Denton for a while and somehow never saw Brave Combo while there

 

I had never heard of them until you mentioned them earlier, but I never liked ska anyways. What were your typical Denton hangouts? Hailey's was one of my favorite venues in all of DFW for a while there. Saw some incredible shows.

 

Hailey's was my favorite venue too. Andy's was alright in terms of like a scummy venue haha, Rubber Gloves was okay too. But Hailey's was the shit, loved that place and loved everyone there.

These days when I go there usually we go to Recycled, Beth Marie's, and we'll meet friends at East Side but since my wife and I don't drink if it's just us we don't go haha

I haven't been to Denton much lately. Like, maybe 5 times in the last 3-4 years.

I forgot about Rubber Gloves; that was a cool place, too.

 

A couple of my friends (who are on Chorus actually) live there so we'll go up to visit them every once in a while, and I go for Thanksgiving every year with my friend/ex's family (long story hahaha) but yeah I've gone way less than normal over the past 5 years or so

 

My favorite show at Hailey's was Black Moth Super Rainbow. That show was the shhhhiiiiiiiiiitttttttt!

 

Oh yeah I went to that show! It was an awesome show

My best Hailey's memories are of playing there honestly, it's the first venue that felt like "when I play here I'm playing at home"

 

I met Thomas Pridgen there too which was cool as hell

 

Holy shit! That's so crazy you were there, too! I remember the band School of Seven Bells was pretty cool as well.

That must be a cool feeling!

 

Man, I used to love TMV so goddamn much back in the day. Their stuff up through Amputechture is pretty much 10/10 perfect to me.
