I don't think so? There isn't anything about real money mentioned in the Polygon article. Honestly before reading that article I didn't know much about the game aside from the controversy it caused when it came out late last year.

that’s surprising to me haha. that’s a space game that is notorious for being like the most highly funded game ever. it has received $46 million in funding and is valued at $496 million as of December 2018... and is still in early access. if you’re fascinated by this stuff and haven’t heard much about it, you have a hell of a rabbit hole to jump down.

edit: hot fucking damn. my bad it has raised over $250 million.

 

Oh wow, maybe that is it then, Kotaku has done a few articles about this stuff, my shitty memory can't remember anything these days. Idk.

 

And The Witness. Wow great month for PS+.

 

Star Citizen isn't fully out yet isn't it? EVE Online has been out for years at this point and is basically its own second world with its own economy. People have actual jobs in EVE Online, like 9-5 jobs working as like drones on a spaceship. It's crazy.

 

my Xbox live gold is up and that’s my excuse for now to stop playing online games and focus on single player while I wait for a sale in Xbox live.

Yeah y'all are definitely thinking of EVE Online. There are like textbook sized books of lore on EVE and wars that have taken actual years of time.
