That’s exactly how I feel about Make Believe

 

Literally the only song on Make Believe I can tolerate is Perfect Situation, and even that song I consider to be Weezer's most overrated song.

 

This is way better than Make Believe/Red/Raditude/Hurley and I think I pretty easily like it more than Pacific Daydream

 

Can I just get this pinned to the start of the thread??? I will not stand for this constant Hurley slander. Over half the album is great, more than you can say for some other Weezer albums

 

I always forget that Hurley was an Epitaph release

 

Just like Pacific Daydream, I'm enjoying this one all the way through. Another hit.

 

Livin in La sounds like it’s straight from PD.

 

Or maybe you fell off the Weezer train, not the other way around?

 

Now that I’m 3x through the Black Album I think the best stretch is 2-7. I loved Zombie Bastards since it was released and Living in LA is growing on me like crazy.

Prince and Byzantine are just OK imo.

And... California Snow isn’t as bad as a closer as I thought it’d be.

There’s no songs I dislike.

Overall a good album but for me doesn’t touch their prior 3 releases but I’ll continue to spin the shit out of this for a long time.

 

I like this better than PD. Like a lot of people have said, I’m Just Being Honest is the winner.

 

Based off of 99% of the reviews/friends/people on this site not overhyping this album...nah

 

Most of what I’ve read in this thread has been at least generally favorable. EWBAITE and PD have also been pretty well received on here.

IMO if you only like a couple albums out of 13, you’re more a fan of those records than you are a fan of the band. That’s why it doesn’t make sense to me when people say “this sounds nothing like Weezer. What happened to Pinkerton?”

How could over 70% of their discography “not sound like them?”

Idk what the thread’s fascination with attempting to tell me I don’t like one of the most important bands of my life is. I think I can very easily say I love Weezer, I dislike most of the more recent stuff

Anyone else find the "have a nice life / have some more Sprite" bit in Piece of Cake to be weirdly incredibly sad or are my emotional triggers just really random

Favorite song: I'm Just Being Honest
Worst song: Too Many Thoughts in My Head

 

Yeah the "I'm so high on cookies" line in "Too Many Thoughts" makes me cringe, and I have a high tolerance for this band

 

My favorites after my first few listens are I’m Just Being Honest, High as a Kite, and Too Many Thoughts in My Head

 

California Snow has surprisingly grown on me a ton. I love High As A Kite, I'm Just Being Honest, Byzantine, Living In LA. I currently feel no urge to skip anything 3-10

 

So I have a huge work thing tomorrow that is super freaking me out and I can't sleep so, naturally I decided to listen to the Weezer albums I'm not very familiar with. First up is Hurley

Now I know the general perception this record has but I'm curious what you all think of Ruling Me? Do people like it, hate it, or what? Cause I kinda love it and I'm just wondering what you guys think. I wish I could remember what exactly I was doing when this dropped because I was just not aware of Weezer at all at this time
