@JulieLynn I honestly don't think anyone was trying to mock you. Its something most of us take pretty seriously, so it comes up when discussing stores that put working class people and especially POC out of business, cause rent to increase, and drive them out of areas

 

You gotta have the right tone about it though!!! You know what I mean!!

I've also realized as a pretty privileged white dude in America I really better learn about other cultures and POCs and how they are effected in this country otherwise i'm gonna live a damn ignorant life (y'all can thank Cait for teaching me that stuff)

Tbh that's why I don't say a lot when topics like this come up, because I know there are people in this thread and other threads and other places online that are smarter than me or have way different perspectives and I just wanna shut up and let them talk so I can either agree or learn something

I genuinely don't try to come off as an ass about it. I'm sure my tone makes it seem that way a lot of times. I get upset because I deal with so many ignorant people on a daily basis, including members of my family, that completely shut me down whenever I do try to explain things. So when I bring it up on here and actually get a chance to talk about it, yeah, I'm passionate about it and want to to my best to learn as well as educate.

It's just a constant struggle every day on here and in real life that it's exhausting, and I'm sorry I get heated.

 

And i'm annoying so Its like I had to start all over again after AP.net went bye bye. I get it.

 

I am so damn intimidated in those settings lol, it's tough for me to even like a post.

 

I never feel like I know what I'm talking about or have anything to offer but to the other extreme
