They kind of have to do that, sadly. Alex Smith is a $20mil cap hit right now, and if he cant come back, he's a $42mil dead cap hit if released. They'd have to cut one of their few recognizable names (Kerrigan, Reed, Norman) as well as working out a long-term deal for Scherff, and then they'd have the space for Foles...but no money to sign anyone for him to throw to. Might as well accept the tank now and hope Guice becomes a 1500yd rusher magically or something.

Colt McCoy, a rookie drafted in the 4th/5th, and whoever they sign off early roster cuts sounds like a nice 4-12 classic combo for them.

 

THough you gotta love a team thinking a guy who made it a combined 2 games before getting hurt is definitely their answer...

Truthfully, Id put good money on Tyrod Taylor starting Week 1 there...he and McCoy are similarly worthless enough that Gruden will talk himself into that being a duo that can compete for the job.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is also my dark horse candidate.

 

Nice & Blue Pt. 2 going into The Sun & The Moon is one of my favorite 1-2 punches on an album. I also love the lyrics of "Messes of Men", "Wolf Am I (Shadow am I)" & "A Glass Can Only Spill what It Contains" and think the music captures the mood of those lyrics perfectly well.

I'm not quite as big of a MWY fan as @Dinosaurs Dish but I think they pretty much always release at least above-average albums, and Brother, Sister in particular really caught my attention. One of my favorite indie-rock albums for sure.

 

Lyrically they are definitely up there. Aaron Weiss has a lot of poignant messages, and he's not too pretentious about his vocabulary, nor is he too forward about religious concepts, very universal messages and metaphors.

Also Ricky is a great drummer, definitely influences me as I continue to learn how to drum.

 

Jags are hopefully either drafting Jawaan Taylor, Ed Oliver, Devin White, or trading down for Daniel Jones & more depth.

We really have a lot of options if we have a veteran QB in place. Our draft strategy doesn't have to be desperate and we can be smart about drafting players who can replace existing contracts / improve functional holes on the team. Or we can trade down and acquire more picks, and not worry about missing on a QB in a decent but underwhelming class.

 

Honestly I'd love to see Colt McCoy get another legit shot at starting after a full off-season. I don't think he'll be anything special, but I've always been a fan of the guy. Sucks he got hurt.

 

He's definitely one of my favorite drummers to listen to and to watch.

 

Colt McCoy will always be the GREATEST QB name of all time.
