I've been re-exploring this band's discography over the past few weeks and I legitimately dont think maybe outside of 2 or 3 songs on the back half of Golden Record they ever made a bad song. RftS and War Paint are perfect records. I think AJ might be the best (or one of the best) in the world at writing a bridge.

 

one my biggest complaints on GR is that the few times they use gang vocals it sound really thin and cringe worthy.. also AJ started saying 'yeah!' a lot more lol

 


Hold my hands out like I'm starting to break . I'm seeing now what I'm doing to the people around me. I'm not supposed to care this much. I ask myself; yeah, who am I? Well, to anything, have I lost my health? I still harbor all my anger. I've been staring at the color in my veins, how they stay, how I still feel I'm tired, but awake. Somewhere out there there is someone thinking of what I haven't gave them yet and feeling that I can't in my disarray.
...such an amazing way to phrase that feeling.

War Paint is a great album.

 

The band tweeted this today:

"all of you should get together to let the singer of this band know how great it would be to take a couple weeks of reunion shows."

 

No, Cody tweeted that. And there's really no reason I would ever bother AJ about getting back in that asshole's life ever again

 

Interesting. I think we all know who is behind that tweet. I think the lead singer should just release a solo album

 

lol, what a doof. I unfollowed them on Twitter years ago because it was just Cody's bullshit all day long.

 

I hope he gets a lot of responses saying "only if Cody isn't involved."

 

Fuck Cody. I forget how insufferable he is until I'm reminded of it from time to time.

 

AJ tweeted something with an amplifier in it talking about painting. Hoping that's a reference to some music from him.

And yeah, fuck Cody. Id love to see TDS go on without him. What does Tyler actually do now? I think he's totally out of the game and I know Brian doesn't think fondly of either Cody or AJ.

Being a fan of this band and also being named Cody has been a bit of a slow, elongated punch to the ol' self-confidence. Hahaha. Over time, seeing your name and any handful of those words put together just starts to make you feel weird, ha. I definitely have a lot of split-second 'this is applying to me' fears. But that's very silly.

 

I totally get that haha, it's good to have a fairly uncommon name

 

Who do we think is hated more by their (former) band's respective fanbase, Cody Payne or Tom DeLonge? They actually have some weird similarities...

 

Tom for sure. I think quite a few people are unaware of how awful Cody Payne is/was and just didn't know why the band imploded the way it did.

 

That's probably true, then again, I'm not sure Cody has any impassioned defenders the way Tom has many.

 

Very true. Tom and Max Bemis get a lot of defenders that I don't understand

 

I still like Tom and Max although I definitely don't enjoy their recent musical output and I absolutely can't defend all of their dumb choices/actions.

 

Yeah it's one thing to like their past music. Defending their actions is much harder but many people do

If The Dangerous Summer got back together tomorrow, what would Cody need to do for fans to gain some good will?

I am not that familiar with what happened with this band. I know they took a bunch of kickstarter money for a dvd that never materialized (right?). That's pretty unforgivable. Was it drugs or something, or was the guy just a shit head?
