This has to be PG-13, right?

Most definitely. Pikachu even said hell in the trailer.

If only Dragonball Evolution had this team working behind it.

I feel like you might be able to get away with putting one hell in a PG movie, kind of like how you can put one fuck in a PG-13 movie.

This might not actually be the case but I'm just guessing. I would be pretty surprised if they actually went PG-13 for it. Not that I'd mind, and I guess with how quasi-horrifying some of the realistic pokemon are maybe they ARE going for that. But missing that PG selling point for kids is not something I'd expect.

I wouldn’t be too surprised. Having a film rated PG-13 won’t prevent people from purchasing tickets.

It's not about preventing from purchasing tickets, it's about what demographic it's targeting. Making it PG-13 over PG shifts that demographic, mostly for families that might want to take their younger kids to see Pokemon as it's usually marketed as a kids thing. Of course that doesn't stop all parents from deciding to take a younger child, it's a case by case basis, but I'm saying as a general box office strategy.

That being said, like I said with the designs of some of the Pokemon plus some of the jokes it's going for PG-13 could be the thing it's doing. Which is cool and I'm down for, I would just be surprised that they're actually marketing it sort of better than I thought they would

I just see more of the themes geared more towards adults who grew up with Pokemon. I could be wrong but it just feels that way.

actually you know what the whole mystery of the movie is if someone fuckin died or not so I guess that probably already throws PG out the window
