The ordering of these posts is phenomenal.

 

Jerry needs to sell the white Sox and hire someone to replace him that will spend the money to being super stars here. they would have had machado if they just offered him what he wanted. They could have landed Harper too if they would have just offered him what he wanted as well. But I guess he likes losing and seeing the stadium 3/4 empty all season long.

 

Yeah if he wasn't gonna go back to DC and STL wasn't gonna go after him, CHW was where I wanted to see Harper go. Too bad it looks basically impossible now

The White Sox offer made no sense, 8/250 but with options that would've made it 10 for like 350 or something? Just bite the bullet and beat the Padres offer by 10. Just half assed it

 

And that’s why jerry needs to sell the team to someone who can make the right choices and offer him what he wanted or what anyone wants for that matter

 

not really sure why they felt the need to give him 7 years but that AAV is peanuts

 

The Dodgers are back in it for Harper.

 

So they didn't want to give machado a contract that ends when he's 36 but they were okay with giving hicks one where he'll be 36... okay

Obviously it's a much cheaper deal but still a bit hypocritical

 

Pollock got 4/55, Hicks could've gotten 4/70 probably as a FA. Kept him but spread out the cost. I like it. Almost a 5 WAR player last year.

 

Depends if they strike and how well he did this year, he's going to be 30 by the end of the season and apparently gms don't like that but I think it's safe to say he would get 12-15m a year in FA. Still a fucking travesty this is happening.

 

I tend to like Hicks, but this deal kinda made me ask myself wtf Cashman is thinking.

Feels like a very Mets move.

 

I mean, they should be able to buy him out or trade him by the time he's in the 2nd half of his deal if they want to but if baseball keeps going down this path other teams will want top prospects to take on pennies for their shit owners and those shit owners will become even cheaper and refuse to buy him out

 

Bet Cashman would start a Kluber deal with Florial now lol

The dodgers only want Harper on a short term deal from what I read on ESPN

 

I’ll tell you..after hearing about this “stupid money” bullshit for the past 6-8 months, if they whiff on Harper/Machado, I’m going to have real hard time getting into it this season.

 

NYY got Hicks for a nice deal.

Seems like a good amount of players are selling their arb years plus some for guaranteed money.

I hope Harper signs with a team, and still sits out road games in Philly. Dude couldn't want to live in that city any freaking less.

 

They've already surpassed the Machado deal but he's insisting on an underground tunnel network built just for him ensuring he never steps foot in the city

 

I mean, I kinda get it, maybe he doesn't want to play in the northeast at all anymore and is hoping the dodgers can get him.

 

Harper wants LA, he likes the big lights and its close to home.
