Continuum is probably my favorite but RFS and HT are also so freaking good.

My favorite song from Continuum is "In Repair" and the creation of this song is pretty rad too.

Looks like he’s doing a classier version of Kanye’s Life of Pablo art. “No Frills” has me excited.

Love Continuum, Heavier Things, I even like The Search for Everything more than most

The two that never grabbed me are Born & Raised and Paradise Valley

Born & Raised is up there with Continuum as his best. Maybe even above it

New song is great. I was a little worried it wouldn't have the same punch as the original live acoustic version, but he pulled it off. It feels like a truer sequel to his Born and Raised material than anything since then, but also incorporates multiple Continuum-style guitar breaks and some of the wide-open soundscapey stuff that worked best on Paradise Valley. Really happy, would love more!

Love the added guitars. Keep the quality singles coming John. But not too fast, I like the songs at this quality.

Continuum and Born and Raised are tops. Then Heavier Things and Room for Squares and Battle Studies. Then the last two.

*whispers* If Battle Studies has a better closing section I’d put it above Continuum.

Trade out “Crossroads” for the “I’m on Fire” Cover and it gets a lot closer.

New song is so, so good.

If Dead and Co's influence on John wasn't so obvious on New Light or the last album, it very much is on the outro of this song.

  19. Basically all of the instrumental breaks in this one sound extremely Dead to me

Wow, this is the first time I've ever heard this. Thanks for the look!

I've never cared for "Assassin" but "Crossroads" always just seemed like the very definition of filler. The ultimate problem with Battle Studies is that John thinks "Do You Know Me" is a better song than it is and "Friends, Lovers Or Nothing" is a too-pat resolution to the album that doesn't earn its 6min runtime. Shame, because "War Of My Life" and "Edge of Desire" are pretty underrated.

I really love “Assassin.” I think that song is such a perfect microcosm of the album’s late night vibe. But agreed on the last two tracks. “Friends, Lovers or Nothing” is an odd closer for that set of songs.

Just got tickets for the Forum show in September. Saw him about 5 years ago at the Hollywood Bowl. It was fantastic

I saw The Grateful Dead in 1990 and got to see Dead and Co 3 years ago (which was the first time I saw Mayer live) and ever since, his music has become even better. The Dead has been this insane positive change for John and his music and just his life in general. He's so humble now and that ego he had 10 years ago is long gone. As I fan, I'm thankful this is the road he took and I can't wait to see what is next!
