Anyone else notice that Box Car Racer's Cat Like Thief and Alkaline Trio's You've Got So Far To Go have similar guitar/bass riffs?

You've Got So Far To Go randomly popped up on my iPhone yesterday and it hit me. I guess it makes sense as Mark said Tom was listening to a lot of Trio stuff during the TOYPAJ recording session.

 

Also, Alkaline Trio - For Your Lungs Only and blink-182 - Not Now.

I am all in on Simple Creatures. This is great.

 

I'm really digging this Simple Creatures thing as well.

On that note, blink should hire the same merch designer.

It just occurred to me ! It's almost a carbon copy aha.

 

I find that the vocal melody on the chorus of alkaline trio - demon and division & angels and airwaves - surrender remind me of each other as well.

 

How dare you mention those two bands in the same sentence

 

It’s a documentary about being a punk a father. It’s mainly about Jim from
Pennywise, but it’s features a lot of other punk artists, including Mark. His interactions with his son are comical. Seems like the fun but annoying Dad. Really humanizes these guys, so of like Blink’s Home Is Such A Lonely Place.

 

This Simple Creatures song was okay. I'm really interested to hear more of Mark's songwriting in a contemporary electronic pop style. I don't love either song but I'm intrigued in the EP.

 

I love the video for Home Is Such A Lonely Place. To each their own I guess.
