I haven’t checked them out but I’m not huge on Knocked Loose so the support is meh to me so I wouldn’t another band that I’m really into but if it comes anywhere close I’ll be there. ADTR is my favorite band.

In theory you’d be right, because I love Stand Atlantic and Eat Your Heart Out, but they aren’t from America (can’t remember if EYHO is or isn’t) making it much more unlikely for a small band like them to get the chance to grow. Also, as shitty as it is, Makeout had a small-ish draw because of “Crazy” And because of Feldy.

 

You’re making my point. It’d be nearly impossible for those bands to come overseas for warped. I’m not talking about “in general there are no good female fronted bands”. That’s wrong and idiotic. It’s hard for the warped scene because most of the good female bands are from Australia or the UK

 

Just in: there are no good female fronted bands in North America.

 

Are you trying to tell me that new Tonight Alive, PVRIS, New Years Day etc don’t fucking suck? Because they’re awful. Bands like In This Moment, Jinjer, Flyleaf etc arent in the Warped Scene. Eat Your Heart Out, Chapel, Stand Atlantic arent big enough. Where am I wrong. Just because my opinion doesn’t fall in line with yours, doesn’t make it any less valid

 

Different genres. Also, it seems that every band ADTR has toured with has also played 1000 cap rooms here, besides Wage War, but they were also blowing the fuck up. I can’t think of a band big enough that fits in with the crowd. It would be cool to see Sharptooth open in the future though

Man that’s a crazy ass wrong opinion. It almost sounds like you’re trying to make fun of me, but you completely misunderstood the point you’re trying to make. A key part is “warped scene” there are great female fronted bands (or even bands with females in them), but those bands, aren’t in the Warped Scene.

Also, it’s my opinion that New Years Day, Tonight Alive, and PVRIS arent good. I’ve seen all three bands and I just wasn’t impressed. New Years Day is bland, and Tonight Alive and PVRIS’s new stuff is too poppy for me. Not my cup of tea. They deserve to be on warped, because they have large fan bases, but I don’t like them. Also Jenna MacDougal (?spelling?) was a bitch at my date of the Silverstein tour.

I have no issue with female fronted vocalist bands in this scene. With that said I am not a fan of virtually any of the bands mentioned, even after seeing a few of them live before (New Years Day/Stand Atlantic/Eat Your Heart Out). That doesn't mean they shouldn't get support slots and/or eventually become headlining acts like Paramore or on a much lesser scale Tonight Alive. Just not a fan of female vox for pop punk/post-hardcore in most cases.

What I just said was a much easier and more logical opinion than just saying "yeah man female fronted pop punk fucking blows they dont deserve shit" idk why people can't just be more clear and not make themselves look like braindead idiots.

It's possible to not like those bands without coming off as a dismissive shithead. Those bands have their audiences that like them a lot. Just because you don't think something is good doesn't mean it doesn't have value or purpose regardless of how big the band is or the audience.

 

Like I said, I like some of them, and they all deserve a platform, never once did I say that they shouldn’t have a platform. All I said was in the warped scene, there aren’t many bands that would be able to go on warped. That’s one of the worst parts of Warped ending, imo. All these smaller bands that are ready to blow up (a good chunk are female fronted) could have greatly benefitted from warped.
