I mean, if it is true, is it really that big of a deal? I mean it's a good indication that he cares still, but there hasn't been anything recently that indicated there was bad blood between any of them, so it's a nice surprise if it is true, but not really if you think about it. They are his bandmates of over 20+ years. I would hope he would still support them.
