I would say after Hang You Up. I feel the little intro of Promises is a good way to pick up the pace again for the songs after it.

You, me and one spotlight ---> Cut me, mick ---> Paper Walls. Possibly best 3 track sequence in their catalog.

Doesn't Life of leaving home do that well though? I think promises is a whole different negative tone compared to the others.

Promises has a little atmospheric/ violin thing the beginning which I feel is a good transition from the end of hang you up, while Life of Leaving home starts with a guitar riff. It's true though it has a more negative tone that is more in line with for you and your denial.

    Constant horror and bone-deep dissatisfaction.

Bombers, b-side from Paper Walls, is a perfect example.

Yup, they typically get the single audio a few days ahead of its official release too.

I think they somehow manage to easily get information from Hopeless.

Actually, russian site had One Bedroom listed a full 10 days in advance. Lol.

I remember I couldn't listen to the first few seconds after hearing that electronic drum beat.

Silly me though, I love the song.

Something about that song still doesn't sit well with me. I don't know what it is.

Yup, and it's one of the better songs on that album. Tells a lot about Lift a Sail.
I'm a little nervous that the new song won't be as great as their pre Lift a Sail stuff.

Excited about the new album. I couldn't get into Life A Sail at all. Also that song "Ten" does nothing for me.

In no world is "One Bedroom" even in the upper half of Lift a Sail songs.

Ten is a brilliant song, imo.

Also after years of only listening to OA, and then the new albums, I checked out Paper Walls properly recently. My god it's good. Really really like Keeper especially right now, feels spot on lyrically.

"Ten" might be my favorite acoustic song this band has done.

"Ten" gives me chills every single time.

Ten hits harder for sure, but I prefer Dear Bobbie -- likely because it's part of one of the best six or seven song stretches I've ever heard on an album. Ten is a great song, but I've always felt it's a bit of a buzzkill between Rivertown Blues and Southern Air.

One Bedroom isn't close to one of the best songs on Lift a Sail. The second half of that record just absolutely slays the first. And by half I guess I mean starting at Fragile and Dear.

Always "One Year, Six Months" for me, but I love "Ten."

Yeah, from "Fragile and Dear" on is just one terrific song after another. I even like the song with the Miss May Fire guy on it. "Illuminate," "MSK," and "Lift a Sail" are all among their very best songs, imo.
