Fair enough.

A big reason why I'm listening to PATD is for infectious melodies with exceptional vocal delivery. Urie's amazing at that. That's why he's back on the top 40 in 2019.

I'll give you that Pretty Odd has more complex songs than most of their discography (and that's why I actually enjoy the album quite a bit btw). However, it's difficult to write crazy catchy vocals over intricate structures, and while the melodies are still good in Pretty Odd, they don't reach the heights that Urie's capable of.

 

it's a good listen for sure.

I get that. Same thing--a friendly acquaintance from high school was struck by an LRT few months ago.

Been to a fair amount of funerals, but that was the first one for a younger person, and despite not knowing him very well, it was the most upsetting.

Horrible to see that much potential go up in flames, ya know?
