yeah it's a great album as is. really excited to get more from him.

 

Adam talks about The Color Fred album in that oral history of TBS and said he was excited to hear Fred’s solo album but bummed when it sounded just like TBS songs.

 

So are we at that period each month when we discuss if we like New Again or not? Or am I early

 

Never too early to talk about one of their best.

 

New Again? Great record. Fazzi? Great musician and Rare Futures is a sick project too

 

While it's not half as bad as I once thought it was. It's still probably the most disappointing album of all time for me. WYWTB and LN were so damn special to me and then NA came out and I had to force myself to enjoy it, until eventually I was just like "nah, fuck this record"

In the years since, I've warmed up to it, but it still feels like TBS chasing the money. I remember at the time getting cheesy emo/pop-punk vibes from it and that was something I admired TBS for staying away from on the previous records even when that sound was super popular.

I agree with your ranking. Though I do like New Again it’s my least fav album

 

And deservedly so. Easily one of their best songs.

Seems quite a few have the hopeless tracks missing. Mine is still intact though. I wonder what gives.

 

They're missing for me, but still there as part of their respective albums.

Also, does it (slightly) annoy anyone else that this release is called Twenty but has 21 tracks? I know it's meant to refer to the 20-year anniversary of the band, but still there was a great opportunity for some synergy there.

 

Guess they could have removed Sink Into Me to make it 20 songs

Lair or Faith should come off before Sink! I'd vote for Faith lol

 

Sink Into Me is one of my least favorite TBS songs even on New Again. Idk why but I prefer even most of New Again over that song.

 

I’m not huge on Faith but it’s a better song than SIM. And Idk about Lair, but Liar is leagues above SIM

 

It's a great album overall so I can dig that.

 

it's a fun catchy number but doesn't really offer anything else. the music video was cool too.

 

SIM is easily in my bottom 5 tbs songs of all time

 

Sink into Me and Faith are pretty much the only 2 TBS songs I will skip every single time. Faith is especially terrible. Sink into me is catchy but the constant claps and "HEY"s are embarrassing
