Listened to Sons of Kemet tonight. Shit is great.

 

I love these guys. Journey To the Mountain of Forever is one of my favorite jazz albums of the past couple years.

This is nine kinds of pretty.

 

He just put out a solo guitar album that's very loopy and atmospheric and pretty

 

He's a little scary because that's the first song I've ever actually heard and he has so many records. No clue where to begin.

 

Yeah, I don't know most of his discography. The other one I listened to a bunch this week was Time and Time Again with Paul Motian

 

Love this new Ruby Rushton.

 

I’m really looking forward to this new Theon Cross album coming out in a few weeks, he’s really become one of my favorites from that entire UK scene.

ive just had Larry Coryell compilations constantly playing for the last 3 days have to put something else on eventually I guess

 

Put on the new Theon Cross this morning and it immediately turned into a dance party with my daughter.

 

Tried to get into that Cross record, and it's undeniably pretty good stuff, but I just can't get down with the tuba as a lead instrument. Does not work for me.

Been listening to nothing but The Bad Plus and The Thing today.

 

Excited to dig in to this new Christian Scott album.

 

New Comet is Coming album is awesome, and I say this as someone who wasn’t a huge fan of their last one.

I’m also seeing them in about 6 hours and very, very excited.

 

I’m so disappointed they are coming through my town. I’m sure they put on a killer show. Enjoy!
