i’m on that Red Bull Blue Edition now sorry that i’m refined Dustin

i got the blue Mountain Dew Gamer thing last week and it eroded my entire mouth of teeth btw. it has a textured grip and a resealable lid because it is super serious

 

Must be hard to get a big enough userbase with these BR games, when a large portion of people who would be interested in your game will just continue to play Fortnite instead

Not sure if this a hot take or not; but KHIII is not good. The worlds are cool (shout out to Toy Story), but my god is the dialog bad, the voice acting is bad, the graphics in same places are bad. I definitely won't be finishing this game. It's a shame all the worlds aren't unlocked cause I'd like to just do the ones that interest me and then peace the F out of that game.

 

Oh yeah I forgot yellow edition exists those are pretty bad

 

I actually agree that so far I think KHIII is not good but it's for almost all the opposite reasons of you haha

 

So you don't think it's good because it has good dialog and good voice acting and great graphics? Weirdo.

 

What a bummer, all I have seen are lukewarm reactions to it.

 

You know what I mean haha. I think the graphics are fine and don't think the dialog/VA necessarily takes away from the game at all. But I think the gameplay is heavily staggered due to how many cutscenes they ARE stuffing into the game and it keeps me from consistently wanting to play. Feels like I'm constantly going to get interrupted and can't really enjoy the world.

So I don't mind the cutscenes/acting/dialogue but DO mind how often these things end up coming up, and the timing of when they do.

I feel like you can tell which parts were designed years ago vs more current. And yeah, the amount of cut scenes is unbearable. In Tangled-verse I got out of a cut scene, held down the D-pad for no more than 5-8 seconds and another cut scene came up. Like you said, it's very distracting and takes away from the game, in a bad way.

 

Pre-ordered new Metro. Everything they've shown looks wonderful, cannot wait to see it on my 4K TV.

 

I mentioned it in the KH thread about the voice acting was weird. Some of the characters sounded so flat and robotic like.

 

KH3 feels like a KH game. They’re literally all like that, with the weird stunted dialogue and stuff. Disagree with the worlds looking bad, they’re a little bare but visually I’m pretty into that aesthetic.

Idk, I haven’t finished yet, but as a big fan of the series I’m really happy with how it turned out.

 

Tangledeep is outstanding. But, I would go Dead Cells.


Tangledeep is much deeper than Dead Cells is, so take that as you will.

 

granted this should be noted that I only have watched my brother play at certain moments so I can’t speak for the game as a whole.

 

played Apex for a good chunk of last night and had a blast. played some solo and some with friends. I truly would not let the forced squad thing deter anyone from trying it out, the pinging system is really good.

 

reading through impressions this morning, i really love some of Tangledeep’s concepts. your gear having a dungeon of it’s own to upgrade it with is so cool. like the difficulty options etc. Dead Cells is like a roguelike Metroidvania right? i feel as though that may compete with my Hollow Knight playthrough

 

the pinging system is truly brilliant.

 

there is nothing Metroidvania'esque about Dead Cells. You do acquire some permanent unlocks but the world remains random and you can technically finish the entire game without unlocking any of them.

That said breathing interferes with a Hallow Knight playthrough, that game is longer than it has any right to be haha
