I'm not sure why I fell off after Cities. I don't know if the next record just didn't stick or what. Or maybe its because they kinda defined a relationship for me. Whatevz. lol

Vital and Cities are both perfect records but I'll give the edge to Vital.

I have no doubt Cities will win this. Personally, I enjoy all of their albums to different degrees - even New Surrender. Ultimately, I gave my vote to Dark is the Way. I think it features some of their best and most interesting songwriting work, and the production is stellar.

This really is a band where I could get behind an argument for almost any album.

    Blueprints
    Lowborn
    Dark

This is my favorite band of all time, so this ranking is fluid.

  10. I'm the first vote for NTFP, but that was the only Anberlin album I liked until Vitals. Cities and me clash hard.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

The only song I've ever really listened to was "A Whisper & a Clamor", and that was thanks to NHL08. So Cities it is.

I mean, the only reason I enjoyed that song is because the game basically played it so many times. It's an OK song. Nothing I'd really want to dig deeper into.

Cities was my first Anberlin album but I also believe it's their best, and one of the greatest albums of all time. Front to back it is absolutely perfection.

I suppose I might be dying solo on the lowborn hill but I really do think that was the fullest extent of their ambition thus far. Obviously doesn't have the highs of cities but is nevertheless remains the first record I return to from them with vitals in a close second.

Really tough call between Cities, Vital, and Lowborn. I think Vital/Lowborn are the band at the top of their game but the personal attachment to Cities give it a slight edge.

    Cities
    Vital
    Lowborn
    NTFP
    DITW
    New Surrender
    Blueprints

I've been playing around with the idea of a front to back listen one day of their discography after they teased a return, and this thread is making me want to really do that. I still feel a hole from their absence, I'm really hoping for a tour announcement :(

If you have to ask, you can't afford it

Can someone explain the hate for Blueprints because it has zero votes and the quite a few I see ranked it dead last. I voted for NTFP personally but Blueprints has 2 of my all-time favorites (Glass to the Arson and Cadence) and another 5-6 still really solid tracks.

    My ranking FWIW

    1. NTFP
    2. Cities
    3. Blueprints
    4. New Surrender
    5. Vital
    6. Dark is the Way
    7. Lowborn

My take on Anberlin albums: Something has to be last when your catalog is as stacked as theirs is.

I’ve only ever listened to Cities & Vitals, and remember liking them both a fair amount, so idk. Gonna have to dig into this band’s catalogue this week & then give my answer
