They're doing a few headlining shows in between shows for whatever tour they're on now. Going to see that tonight.

 

They played some of the songs from the upcoming record tonight and definitely liked the other two more than 2020 AD.

 

Same, when I saw them they played 3 songs in addition to 2020 AD and they all sounded significantly better. I thought the way they set up their setlist was smart too.

 

What did the three other songs sound like? I know that's an impossible question for live tracks but any indication on their overall vibe.

 

Surprisingly they were pretty Cody heavy, with TJ being more of the secondary vocals. I'd say they sounded the most like HOH songwriting-wise. Like imagine if HOH had TJ on it. 2 of them were pretty upbeat songs, but not super heavy like Son. One of them was more in the style of like "Made Too Pretty" I hope this helps!

 

That makes me excited, I loved HOHW and always wondered where they would have taken things after that album.

I'm still bummed I've never been able to see them live. They did a one off headlining show on this tour but I just couldn't swing the 3 hr drive on a weeknight. Back in college I wouldn't have thought twice about doing that lol

Pretty much this, one was a little more Cody and the other more 50/50 split. It felt like HOHW songwriting with more Come Now Sleep heavy sprinkled in.

 

Also, I was really surprised how big their turnout was. It was a decent sized crowd.

 

I hope they move up the bill next time they come to Philly, couldn't really justify it this last time

yeah, it was the I'm Only A Man tour with Pierce the Veil and Cry of the Afflicted, too.

 

Yep! I went to that one. This was pre me being into Emery so I split after ACB.

 

Greatest regret in life?

 

A band I played in opened up for emery a few times so I got my fill haha. First time seeing them live tho I was like damn

 

Hearing they're exploring the sound of Hell or High Water with a sprinkling of Come Now Sleep makes me very excited.

I don't listen to much screaming stuff these days so I want a lot of Cody please!

 

Would love to go to this kind of show as I love Cody when he's more musically stripped back.
