Apostle was a nice surprise. Pretty decent.

  2. Child's Play 3 was a huge drop in quality, apparently the creator's least favorite entry. Excited to move onto Bride of Chucky and beyond.

3 was not good haha. You’re starting to venture into some fun movies. Bride and Seed have a heavy dose of humor. Knowing that going in helps a lot I think. It’s such a shift in tone, Bride rubbed me the wrong way the first time I watched it.

I always thought Bride (since it came out) that it's a reflection of the post-Scream horror environment.

3 had that finale in the “carnival” indoor roller coaster that would’ve been OSHA’s worst nightmare

Bride of Chucky is easily the best of the series for me. But it still isn't saying much. I watched Child's Play 2 the other day when it was being discussed and did not like it any more than when I was younger. Seed is just balls to the ball hilarious and bad.

Cult of Chucky was better than I expected it to be.

I loved The Invisible Man. The fact that they don’t try to make him a tragic character like most of the other monsters is my favorite aspect. He becomes invisible and just turns full murderous psychopath.

Please please please do it right. I’d do anything to see a revival of Universal Monster films that remain true to the sources.

Edit: “The site also notes that the hiring Whannell does not necessarily mean this will be the next monster movie to go into production, as other pitches are also coming together revolving around different characters.”

Bit of a buzzkill. But at least they’re still actively looking to reboot the monsters while abandoning their Dark Universe action/adventure bullshit.

Just give me a decent Werewolf movie. I honestly don’t think there are any I like outside of AAWiL, maybe Dog Soldiers.

Also Creature of the Black Lagoon could be great if someone did it right!

I just realized that AAWiL, Howling, and Wolfen came out within a few months of each other in 1981.

  17. Werewolves, huh? First (good) thing that came to mind is Penny Dreadful. Go watch it, people. Seriously.

Somehow I lost interest in Underworld. I've never been interested in Twilight. I don't think I've seen werewolves in anything that was actually straight horror.

  19. Bride of Chucky was...dated, surprisingly smart (the subplot of a couple on the run each suspecting the other is a murderer is great), and all in all, a lot of fun. What a bonkers movie.

Wolf is my favorite werewolf movie. It’s so insanely weird. The cast and crew were pulled from my dreams and planted back in 1994.

Sadly I didn’t care for it too much. Though I did like the connection they were trying to establish with turning into a Werewolf, and sex.

Read that yesterday, I'm excited to see how they will make it into a full length movie.

my only guess is that they take a lot of creative liberties and it becomes something much bigger and drawn out than what is in the story. i remember i went back and read the story that inspired the dream door and it was like, oh well they used like the very beginning and turned it into something else entirely. so probably something like that? who knows though cause this story would amount to like 30 minutes on screen id guess haha

  25. I'm going to assume most in this thread would consider seeing the original Suspiria first absolutely essential to seeing the remake? Would a double feature be an okay way to digest both?
