Best 3 song stretch to end an album is definitely Of Dust and Nations - Stand and Feel Your Worth - Red Sky.

 

But Image of the Invisible to Red Sky is the best 11-song stretch.

Best 3 song stretch that is an album opener? For me it's a tie between:
Firebreather-Messenger-Backdraft
Hurricane-Blood in the Sand-The Window (if only just for track 1 and 3 lol)
Kill Me Quickly-Subtle Dagger-See You in the Shallows

Best 3 track stretch overall though? I gotta agree too with Dust-Stand-Red Sky.

In Exile-At The Last-Wood&Wire, For Miles-Hold Fast-Music Box and Long Defeat-Black Honey-Stay With Me are all honorable mentions though.

 

We kinda got a long, career spanning set on their "farewell" tour which was incredible to see. The very last date they did no openers I believe and played forrreevveerr, stopping in the middle to do an acoustic set, probably to give the band a break lol. I would have loved to have made that date.

 

The opening to artist is unbeatable, c’mon now

 

Hard to argue honestly, even though it wasn't even on my list!

I love the one two punch of cold cash and under a killing moon, but all that's left isn't one of my favorite thrice songs. I like it sure but it stops it from being my favorite 3 song stretch to open a thrice album.

 

1 song breaks up two of my "would be" 3 song stretches.
Earth Will Shake-For Miles-Hold Fast Hope
Just Breathe-Everything Belongs-A Branch in the River

No hard feelings to Atlantic or My Soul, both great songs, just in the way!

 

But.. the band hates it!

 

Would Cold Cash-Killing Moon-Silhouette do ya better?

 

Earth Will Shake-Atlantic-For Miles is a fantastic stretch.

 

Yea man its just all that's left was seminal into gaining them fans it's an important song in their catalogue just lacking in some areas for me.

 

true, but when you are talking best of the best, you gotta make room for Hold Fast. I wish there was another way.

 

If we can do 4 song stretches, then Earth Will Shake - Hold Fast Hope is definitely amazing.

 

Personally Hold Fast is in my least favorites on there.

Imagine how good vheissu would be had they not omitted those b-sides.

 

Just added those onto the existing 11 tracks? It'd be great. I wouldn't want them to replace anything though. Where would you want them placed?

 

Yeah. I like long records. That's a good question regarding sequencing. I'll get back to you once I consult with my team on this.

 

I agree and also feel artist with motion and eclipse added would have made it a monster of a record. Two excellent tracks.

 

Motion Isn't Meaning sounds so good kicking in right after Under a Killing Moon. I'd probably put Eclipse after Artist.

The endings of Weight of Glory and Stand and Feel Your Worth sound similar to me, so I'd probably separate those two as much as I can. I'd put that in after Between the End and Where We Lie. I'd put Flags of Dawn after Like Moths to Flame. Of Dust and Nations sounds pretty good coming off the ending of Flags.
