What in sweet hell is this? This is good, but it's still a very hard listen.

Crazed, psychotic, loud black metal with some industrial influences FFO Portal, Gnaw Their Tongues, Dragged Into Sunlight

I agree. I liked it too, but stopped halfway through and came back to it later because it kinda felt long.

    My overall initial reaction;

    CHEWBACCA SOUND!!!

But seriously, fuck yeah. Awesome stuff. I'm hearing they mixed a little bit of a nu metal/groove metal influence in their, and it sounds a bit like if you crossed early Slipknot and early Machine Head with Norma Jean. So badass and I cannot wait for this. 10/10

Been following Employed To Serve since the early days, so I'm really happy to see where they've got to. Just looked up their label earlier and wow their on a label with some big bands. They're headlining a 800 cap venue here in May and I've seen them play to 10 people lol

So have I. I've loved seeing them get to where they are and they deserve so much success. And you're lucky man, I would love to see them - as far as I know they've never made it down here and I'm gonna be on that shit as soon as they do (though as with my Weekend Nachos goof I could have easily missed them and not realised).

Yeah I’m happy to see them getting bigger, the band proper deserve it. Warmth was incredible so I’m really looking forward to the new album. The backup vocals in that new song is definitely bringing a new vibe to their sound which is awesome to hear.

Ah I know, I know. But I'm still keen for this and I think they form a trio now of the best bands this label has next to Knocked Loose and Sanction.

This isn't new at all but I've jammed it periodically since it came out 3 or so years ago because it's that fucking good. Easily one of my favourite albums of the 2010s and I wait with baited breath for a follow up.

I agree. That's what got me with this song - they've managed to keep the core of what makes them amazing intact but push things subtly and add cool new dimensions to their music that keep it going.

Ooooooooh. Stop. Please. I cannot handle the amount of jealousy overtaking me now because that is too cool. That's the kind of show you experience and remember for the rest of your days.

On that note, Renounced? Are they dead? Hope not because they're one of my fav metalcore revival bands of the bunch.

Matt Heafy loves Employed, I wonder if Employed could support Trivium. Matt Heafy is as big of a Holy Roar fanboy as us if you'll didn't know lol

Trivium has Power Trip, Code Orange and Venom Prison on the same tour, which was cool as fuck. They support newer bands a lot more that others from their era

I loved Trivium's last album so I'd 100% pay to see a Trivium/Employed tour. Add Conjurer and MOL (who Matt Heafy also loves as well) and fuck we'd be dead set...

That tour looked amazing and slightly made me wish I'd taken advantage of my UK citizenship and moved to England for uni.

I also loved that Lamb Of God and Anthrax took Power Trip and Deafheaven out on tour with them. That would have killed.

Trivium's Matt Heafy Told Us His Favourite Albums Of The Year — Kerrang!

Here's where he talked about them for reference.

I don't really listen to them much anymore, but Trivium were my intro to heavy music, so I do still respect them a ton and love that they're not those old guys that say "metal is dead" constantly

I’ve never been massive on them (outside of Ascendancy) but the last Trivium album was pretty solid for that sort of thing, it was far too long though.

Ascendancy was everything to 13 year old me. I also enjoyed Shogun and In Waves when they were released

Were there any good metal albums that came out today, I haven’t noticed anything of significance?

I’m really looking forward to that Ithaca album dropping next week.
