I'm still waiting for that Cereal Killers project too!

 

Is it wrong I was thinking of copping that name and doing that project myself? I have a 3 year old and think it’d be super fun.

Separately, I kinda have a crush on Alex. He’s always so cool looking.

 

I think Matt and Mark's idea is fantastic. I would have certainly gotten it for my kid/me haha.

Unfortunately Matt has said on a podcast that he copyrighted the name and they still plan on doing it one of these days so you're going to have to come up with a different name.

Seems like he just has a lot of instances where his plans change and not necessarily a bunch of false promises or something.

Those are probably the main two, but he was also involved with that City (Comma) State project that was hyped up but didn't end up lasting too long (one EP I think?). Even +44 initially seemed like an entirely different "project" than what it turned out to be (with the female singer and whatnot). And yeah, then he was in some sort of weird phase where he was going to do a follow-up +44 album or turn it into a solo album, but we never got anything.

 

Good question. I think it was in the past year or so. I downloaded it off the Apple app. I tried a quick search and the only one that fit was called "The Truth Barrel" with Gabrielle Reece and Neil Strauss. I can't say that that's the one but the only other option is the podcast he did with Mark back in 2015 and that wasn't it.

 

Can we be 100 % sure nothing and nobody wasn't just a dig at Angels and airwaves? haha

 

It certainly seemed that way. I think it was announced during the time the guys were going to finally record a follow up to Neighborhoods but Tom quit the band again privately only to come back a day later. Mark sent out that passive aggressive tweet about him and Travis waiting for Tom to record and then Tom sent out that tweet about his dad dying. Just a mess altogether. I know Nothing and Nobody released the Jackson 5 ABC remix which was pretty bad but never anything else.

 

Couldn't get through that song on my first listen. Went back in later and made it through but not digging it. Hope the rest of the EP is better.

 

While I think this song is lame I still have hopes considering Tidal Wave rules

 

The 3 songs he did with City Comma State were so great. His voice contrasting with the lead girl singer was such a great combo.

 

The song is not that bad. At least Mark has released it under a separate project.

 

Lol yeah I don't get any reactions like worrying about blink. This is with a guy from All Time Low and I'm not very knowledgeable on that band I admit but this seems pretty in line with some of their material.

 

Definitely their newer stuff. Their older more straight forward pop punk stuff is SO GOOD if you like blink. Years ago my buddy produced a video of theirs and their manager at the time was saying something about how they were trying to carry the torch since blink had broken up. They may not have gotten as big but I definitely see how they were positioning themselves to fill that void.

 

Just checking to see if the blink thread is burning down about something.

This kinda makes me think of a logical evolution of +44 a decade later. Like if they would have continued down their path and sound ... I totally could see this being the song.

 

Dude I thought this SAME THING but thought I’d get vilified if I posted that.

 

I have no fear of the Blink-18masses.

 

I’d be bummed if +44 released this. Then again I haven’t listened to it a second time. I’ll definitely check the EP out, Mark is Mark and while I’m not a big All Time Low fan they have some big hooks. I have modest hopes for it.

 

Let's face it, I'll listen to anything that Mark is on. But with this so-so song being released the same day as Better Oblivion Community Center, the new Florence single, the new Jenny Lewis single, and hell even that fun Weezer cover album......I feel like this song will just get lost in the shuffle for me.

 

I could definitely see it if they had a couple of albums in between to flesh out the electronic parts of their sound. It would not have surprised me to see them land on this style eventually (at least for a song or two).

Had he kept up with both, it would have been interesting to see a +44 parallel with blink given the direction they’ve gone.

 

I mentioned the Weezer album last because I knew people would dismiss my point as soon as they saw it mentioned haha

 

Never show shame in things you like. Like I get dunked on for liking Taking Back Sunday sometimes in certain threads

 

Not sure who Captain Cuts is, but he (they?) was in the studio with blink today..

EDIT: Just checked their music on spotify.. can't say I'm excited.
