You know that feeling when you say a word that you use all the time but for whatever reason that time when you say it it just sounds completely wrong to you, and you roll it around in your head for a while trying to make sense of it but it just doesn't work - that happens to me a lot when I see Donald Trump wearing like the 'Outdoor Active President' / touring a disaster area windbreaker outfit. It hits me all over again that Donald Trump is the fucking president of our country.

I don't think seeing him in like his normal everyday suit and tie triggers it because as ridiculous as he has always been, historically he was usually always in a suit and tie whenever I'd see him on like commercials for 'The Apprentice' or wherever the hell he would turn up. That windbreaker look for some reason just screams "PRESIDENT" to me.

 

Imagine being worth 100 million at the end of the year after all of your taxes are paid and your net worth is determined, and getting mad because you'd have to pay 2 million more in taxes.

Like, they could literally make that back in the first month of the next year through interest in various accounts/investments/etc.

If you're going to pretend I was talking about something other than the first Gillum tweet that was posted in that conversation, in which all that was indicated was that Gillum was happy that Maduro was out and nothing else, than no.

If you're going to acknowledge that I said repeatedly that saying it was a good thing Maduro was out and saying nothing else beyond that was not a career killer for me, than yes.

 

There were only a handful of local pizza shops in the town I grew up in, and my friends and I would argue about which one was best. The one I always liked is still in business, and I just read that the owner is offering free meals to anyone whose family is affected by the shutdown. I thought that was pretty cool.

There have been a lot of stories coming out about people helping out where they can, but the ‘let them eat cake’ attitude coming from wealthy people where they are downplaying what an actual crisis this is to working people is fucking infuriating. A lot of the ‘advice’ coming down from on high – aside from dripping with thinly veiled contempt – really just boils down to ‘don’t be poor’. Pointing out that *some* of the people will receive their back pay is akin to telling someone they can breathe later.

 

Of course...but I said yesterday that someone saying they're happy Maduro is out and celebrating that wasn't going to torpedo someone for me, and that was all I said, and that was apparently the wrong way to feel.

Bernie seems happy Maduro is out, too. Cool. I'm glad he elaborated that he thinks the US shouldn't be involved in it. Even better.

 

What fucking horseshit fantasyland is he thinking of where you can mosey on down to the General Store and just tell the fella at the register you’ll get him the money for all that food you’re buying when you get paid?!?? You can tell his entire response to that question is him trying to put his severely limited intelligence to work imagining what it is like for a peasant who actually goes to a store themselves and buys their own food.

 

It was made clear by several people here that the objection to Guilin’s tweet was to his failure to condemn regime change.
