Any chance Blink plays a new song tonight?

 

I was just wondering this about five minutes ago! Haha. I think Rabbit Hole is pretty likely since it was on the list of songs they were rehearsing and has been released now.

 

This is going to be bad internet karma for me or something, I know, but I hope the album leaks by next weekend. I'm going on an 8 hr drive with my girlfriend during which she has granted me permission to create a "history of blink" playlist for us to listen to. It's for her to familiarize a bit more before the show in September. Being able to have California would be aaawesome.

 

I've gotten so spoiled in the last few years because albums being leaked a week early (by the artist themselves through some sort of "exclusive" website stream) was becoming the standard. I've had a couple of releases come out lately where that wasn't the case and I was PISSED. haha.

But yes, I'm in the same boat as far as having a far drive coming up. Driving down for a family vacation (13-14ish hours) next Friday, so the album will at least drop before my drive back the following weekend but it would be really nice to have the album while I'm down there.

 

Don't count on it

 

However, what I know will happen is this: About two hours before the drive is over - the album will leak. Then I will be stuck in Portland busy all weekend with family and no quality way to listen. Such is life.

 

Luckily for me my fiancé is a blink fan so we both have massive blink mixes for long drives. But we are looking forward to adding California to the mix

By the way guys, I don't know if you realize this but... we are two weeks away from a new blink record. Did anyone else know that?

What's a groundhog burger?

 

I don't think I've ever anticipated a release quite like this one. I don't necessarily expect it to be my favorite album or anything but I just really want to put all the speculation in the rear view and enjoy the final product

 

Even if it started as a joke or what the fuck ever, it snowballed and people started acting cruel to Travis and his family, especially his poor daughter. People are missing the point. It's a "joke" that's been taken way too far. People are so dense.

 

The worst thing about the internet existing is that it opened up a portal to a world of stupidity none of us ever would have known.

Case in point, those @replies to Jason in re: to the creep.

 

After my excitement going on a decline over the album rollout (I like "Bored to Death" but am not crazy about it, feel nothing for "Rabbit Hole", hate the joke songs) I finally listened to the Mark/Feldmann podcast and really enjoyed it, I'm back to being really excited. I love the way Mark talks about making music and just the fact that blink wrote so much during this stretch I take as a sign that they're in a great place. Feldmann's done a great job too, even the songs I don't like sound fantastic and there's so much more life to the music than anything post-breakup.

No knock on Mark, I actually like his style, but I did almost snort when Feldmann called him the greatest bass player in the world or something.

 

What gets me is that the dude was like "merrrrr it's just satire merrrmerrrr." Really!

It's so clearly not satire. Try looking up the definition of cyber-bullying..

 

Just a pathetic excuse from scumbags to justify bullying and their dumbass mob mentality on the internet. These are the types of kids who probably tried to get you hurt on the playground in elementary school and then said "It was just a joke, bro".

Even if that original video was meant 100% as a joke and SOMEHOW he meant no harm by it, his subscribers clearly meant all the harm in the world to Travis and Shanna. You don't have a thousand people bombard a family's social media accounts if your "joke" wasn't meant to be harmful. Everyone involved there is just too stupid to realize that.

Edit: And, not to mention, if the channel is satire and that's all his "fans" take it for, why go so far as to try to hack Jason's Twitter account? Clearly not "all in good fun".

 

You have to be pretty fucking sick in the head to call what they did to a 10 year old girl "satire".

 

Just baffles me that he starts that video with "I realized it was dumb to have a beef with a 13 year old" and then proceeds to shame a ten year old girl. Scumbag.

 

As if she would totally understand and see any of humor in it, too.

 

Yeah like its less dumb to shame a 10 year old or something.
